Working the dock not only teaches you how to work, how to load the aircraft, and makes you an appreciate the dockhands when you finally earn your ride, but will also gain the respect of your peers and the people who you will be flying with.
In this industry, respect is everything.

Great video! I was wondering what that Twin Otter Captain was up to though. Was that his attempt at step taxiing downwind. Man, that must have saved him 30 seconds getting to the dock. You can use it as a educational video for all the new float pilots and teach them what not to do with a Twin Otter...

I don't think that Westwind deserves all the negativity that it gets, especially from TWA employees. I work for Transwest and I know that it is substancial. So maybe "the enemy" is taking some of our buisness but in the end we are all pilots and someday may be working for that company.

Doc complains: Vortecks...you haven't got a phuquen clue, do you? Really liked your comment about pilots who didn't "work the ramp" being "assholes"! You go, moron! I'm sorry if I made it sound like I was buring pilots for not "working the ramp", I didn't mean that it should be taken that far. What ...

I'm not sure where people get the attitude that just because a person is a pilot, they should not have to do a little work. Time on the ramp is a good thing for new pilots. It gives a little perspective on things, and causes one to really appreciate the priviliage of being a pilot once the ramp time...
