Hopefully big gains for those affected by this ULP and setting a precedent for others in the future. A little kick in the shins for AC...

1 year starting from when you're line checked. Don't forget you have to interview with your managers to get off it as well.

Re: Aerocourse ATPL ground school/seminar worth it?
Hello, I am planning to start studying SAMRA/SARON and I found there is Aerocourse ATPL ground school/seminar (virtual or in-person classroom format). Is it worth to take that seminar? Or will studying by myself with Aerocourse's Airline Transport Pilot Licence Workbook be fine? Thank you in advanc...

Re: Is the ACPA Motto: "We will get'em next time" gone?
Those who choose not to prepare for a strike are foolish. ALPA does not tolerate scabs. There is still a "scab list" from a strike in the early 80's down in the States. To this day those guys are banned from many flight deck jumpseats. A strike or lockout IS coming, it's just a matter of when. Expe...

So when are we going to finally see the results of these negots that have been going on for almost 6 months now? The rest of Canada is waiting on AC ALPA to do something sitting on the edge of our seats.

Bose A20 vs A30
Has anyone had experience flying with both? I'm looking to upgrade from my lightspeed zulu 1s to either the Bose A20 or A30s. Not sure if the newer model justifies an extra $150. Whats everyone thoughts / experience?

You guys should be doing the same, if not better than us in the US. I'm a junior Alaska Airlines captain, and hustling this year I'm going to make $370,000 (usd) Awesome that you joined this group three days ago. Send us a pic of your pay stub. Of course, blur out the personal info. :) Here ya go. ...

Re: New hire bids
Bid the e175. By far the best aircraft at jazz. Unless you want a Yyc or yvr base. I would like YYC preferably or YVR because my wife and kids live out West. It's more about family than anything. Depends where you live but if you want to stay out west and be home more u can't go wrong with the Q as...

Re: F18 vs balloon
Our Air Force isn't battle ready in one bit. They probably scrambled the F18s from Cold lake for the weather balloon but they wouldn't start on the ramp cause there such POS that we had to beg the Americans to bring their F22s from Alaska to help us out.

Lynx WAWCON
Hard pressed to find any information in regards to Lynx. Does anyone know what pay is like there? Hows the scheduling? Average monthly block? Benefits / any sort of pension?
Any bit helps. Thanks

A construction labourer has less responsibility/education and training than a pilot and still gets paid more than the joke of a salary regional FOs get in this country. I wouldn't recommend anyone become a pilot these days even if its "following your dreams".

Re: Flow through to AC
Air Canada has hired ~160 pilots this year, including the latest PIT course that just started. My understanding is that the intention is to hire 40 pilots per PIT course and run two PIT courses per month for the foreseeable future. That's one more course for September, two for October, two for Nove...

Re: Your flashlight in your flight bag?
I nerded out and picked up a Fenix TK20R half a dozen years ago. Zero issues. I think I have charged it once? Looks like v2.0 is out. After having 1000 lumens, I wouldn't buy anything less. The variable lumens is nice. 10 is much better than 1000 inside the flight deck  https://www.fenixlighti...

Re: Bases and equipment
For those wanting to stay east bid the Jet. Those wanting to go West pick the Q. YVR Q always has vacancies on it as theres no other aircraft in the Jazz fleet that fits its mission profile. 1 leg your doing YVR Island hops the next your off to northern BC.

Re: FedEx wants Anti-missile Countermeasures
Need I remind everyone that there already is a passenger airline in the world that runs a missile defence system on every single one of their planes and have been running it since 2004. They're based in the middle east and seem to be the only ones allowed to use it. You can search for yourself.
