Re: Ground school classes for 2019

Generally speaking, your PFO will come in the form of an email within a week of the interview. Also generally speaking, the longer you wait from your interview, the better. Usually takes 3-4 weeks to hear back if the result is positive (or such has been my experience and what I’ve heard anecdotally)...

Re: Top Tips

For those at Encore who like to pack their own food...is there a preference for which cooler bag to use? I hear the Six Pack bags are a wise choice. Any restrictions on bag dimensions / size? Any tips for easy food to bring on the road?

Top Tips

Hello Friends, Starting ground school soon and I’m wondering if anybody can share some top tips for success or how to make things a little easier. To be clear, I’m not “looking for answers”. I’m looking for “know the take off brief” or “read the AOM, specifically Ch3” or “be sure to avoid Rosco’s Ch...

Re: Encore Requirements

The 150 is a firm requirement. I was in a similar boat in that I needed more PIC time. I approached WJE with options but the black and white answer was “...thou shalt have the required PIC mins”. It is set is very hard granite.

Re: ATPL Prep

455TT... You can buy the Workbook on its own for $65.95 from the AeroCourse website. The 2010 book (5th edition) is the one you’re looking for. The Groundschool Manual, however, only comes when you pay to attend the seminar. The seminar is $645. I know we’re all starving pilots, but I think it’s mon...

Re: ATPL Prep

Ludo! :) The Groundschool Manual and Workbook are both provided by the AeroCourse folks when you sign up for their wknd seminar. The books are currently in the form of the 5th edition. The books are well worth the cost, and IMHO, those two books alone will get you through the exams (assuming you kno...

Keeping Fit

Greetings Fellow Aviators! I’m looking to get some top tips / best practises on how to keep fit whilst living the airline pilot lifestyle. Finding a gym to crush iron at should be fairly straight forward. I’m thinking more of how one ensures proper nutrition whilst travelling. Is there a prepfered i...

PIC Mins

I heard Encore is thinking of reducing min PIC time to 150. Can anyone confirm, with an associated implementation timeline?

Thanks!
