Re: De-icing
It just seems like going without type 4 on a day like that just means a mandatory inspection before take-off (because the 6 minutes would be up) and a probable return to the CDF, as type 1 is quit useless as a anti-ice... I agree that they would have been better off not to spray at all. Thats what I...

De-icing
Just wondering how WestJetters decide when to use type 4. I was in Yul a few days back and we went to the pad for a spray and got type 1 and 4. A WestJet airplane was in the bay beside us and they took only type 1 after being questionned repeatedly by Aeromag.(not that Aeromag questionning means any...

PBS
Hey, Anyone out there commuting and know how to get a good schedule out of PBS? I am looking to work blocks of days (maybe 7 on, 7 off). Would prefer higher credit stuff, and really don't care what kind of flying I do while I am at work. I think I sit somewhere around 70% on the Emj yyz list. If any...

Re: oops
When you come in on the approach for 19 you end up lined up with 15 and have to make a fairly tight turn to final to stay out of some serious restricted airspace. Not a very pilot friendly airport. Fun once you've been there a few times though.

Re: Jazz Jazz Jazz !!
Actually after 2 years you make $49.50 an hour, which is more like $49000 a year, Good benefits, good pension. You are guaranteed 12 days off a month with a pretty flexible schedule (depends on what you bid) but from the beginning I got at least 14 days off a month. When I left after 2 years I was w...

Thinking of doing some ultralight training
Maybe someone here can save me some time. I instructed about 7 yrs ago, my IR lapsed about 5 years ago and I have some people asking me to do some training for the ultra light permit. anyone know the requirements or is it the full instructor requirements same as PPL and CPL training?

Time free from duty...?
Just wondering, in relation to the CAR's 700.19(1)(a), can you legally work 8 days on, 36 hrs off, 4 days on, 36 hrs off and then 2 days on? I thought if you didn't get 36 hrs off within 7 then they had to give you 3 consecutive days off with 17 days.... Or am I just reading that wrong?
Thanks
Thanks

Cheap Hotel Near YYZ
Just wondering if someone knows about any cheap hotels near YYZ for AC or JAZZ pilots. I need a room for a night and don't want to spend $100.00.
I've heard about rooms for about $50.00, anyone know anything about that? Which hotels? Do they have a shuttle (free?)?
Thanks

I think you need an aviation college diploma or a degree to get into AC right now. If that is what your goal is maybe you should think twice about it. Two things to think off. You can get the diploma, your instructor rating and things crap out for 5 years, your stuck getting all your time on single ...
