Re: College of Professional Pilots

Lots of conversation here but no straight up answers. I gather from the conversation that it sounds like the College is defunct.

College of Professional Pilots

I let my membership lapse and when I went to the website I found that nothing new has been posted since 2016. Is the College defunct?

Thanks

Re: The Roll Call

Paul Jackson was my instructor for my Commercial licence many years ago. Powerful instructor with an easy matter of fact attitude. I also had the privilege of working for him as weekend dispatcher at the same time I was still in high school. Jack Kaiser was a huge influence on me during my instructo...

Re: Employment in Canada 15 years ago?

In '95 I was a training Pilot on King Air 100/200s for a 30 plus pilot company with a couple contracts. We required 5000 hours for new hire Captains.
Times have changed a bit. They always do.
In WWI they sent guys off to battle with 10 hours in their logbook.
Times will change again. and again

Re: Cargo plane crash in Dubai

http://www.timminstimes.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2732899 Happy ending on this one. My deepest sympathies to those affected by the UPS crash. No worse emergency than fire in flight. I'm sure the 400 must have the best stuff available to wear on your face, so to not see the instruments, it must have ...

For a few days the whole bottom part of the menu was not visible in my browser window. Looked like they had scaled down the forum.

Don't think that was Jazz. Last time I checked we don't use 25. It has certainly been done more than once before though.

avcanada wall

I just noticed that the avcanada wall forum is gone. Is it buried somewhere else on the site? I did a search and found the old Duke Elegant stuff but is the wall "closed" so to speak?

Thought everyone in this day and age knew that a link with .jpg at the end indicates a jpeg formatted photo or image. yeah yeah, You're a bit late on the scene. The original post had a picture of the wreck. And hey, it's not about censorship or being an Avcanada "big brother", just another point of...

Don't know how you all feel but the picture of the crumpled Cessna (probably with the bodies still inside) gives me a clear case of the shits. I don't think that the image helps this thread in a positive way even though it comes from a credible news source. Some of you may know that I lost someone c...

Many factors, no witnesses. Investigation inconclusive.

Fly careful everyone.

I don't care whether you are an instructor or examiner, I personally feel that failing a system prior to flight (ie tape over the pitot tube) is dead wrong and unprofessional. What if you forget it? Trickery at any level is unimaginative for a ride situation anyways. Just shows a lack of real foreth...

Sorry, gotta disagree, Moes sucks, especially their burgers. I Like -Hanami, YVR (good sushi at a reasonable price) -The taxi stand at YUL, can't remember the name, you have to walk out of domestic arrivals, turn left and walk a few minutes to where all the taxis are parked. Good grub, good price. -...

How do we stop brain farts? The whole world would be a vastly different place if we could solve that one. For starters I believe the industry in Canada is ass-backwards with some of the least experienced Pilots doing the hardest jobs and except for very few exceptions the wages and working condition...
