Anyone know how many were in today's pit course?
31 people. More than half were OTS. A few more Cathay people again escaping that mess.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Well they better hurry. The vote is like a week away after which I imagine the Transat execs will make it very difficult to go with another offer even if the price is higher.

Re: DOH merge.

If they are postponing new hire classes it probably means they decided to reduce the MAX. It's not about the merger other than them putting all their eggs in the Transat fleet as a replacement for it. The training department is about to be very busy.

Re: DOH merge.

I hope the Transat shareholders see the Air Canada deal for what it is. A mutual back scratching between Calin and the Transat execs that comes at your cost.

Re: When do you think the 737 MAX will return to operation at Air Canada?

I suspect that they will reduce all 737 positions on the next bid. What a mess. A large amount of junior people in almost all fleets will be bumped and have to retrain. I wonder if they will try to delay the bid until the Transat shareholder vote.

Re: DOH merge.

September Is there a date set yet? That makes it hard to plan for the big upcoming equipment bid at AC. For the company and the pilots. I don't know if it's better to assume it's going to pass or not. Everyone seems so sure it will despite major shareholders being against it and the other higher of...

Re: The Ol' PFO

Also I think the Aviation "Diploma" has lost a lot of its luster. Degrees and other varied post-secondary are still highly weighted at AC. Surprising to hear. It was always considered quite highly before. I wonder if they look at the year you graduated now. Finishing a program like Sault used to be...

Re: Decent places to live in Vancouver area near transit to YVR?

Thank you all for your input. Seems like the Mt. Pleasant/Broadway area had the most support, Yaletown is a potentially good option, and Richmond depends on the person. I'll be sure to check them all out for myself.

Re: Didn't pass Cat 1 medical, what is going to happen next..?

Another good idea I just remembered is to take your urine sample midstream. That means start urinating, stop, get your cup in place and get a large enough sample, stop, and finish going into the toilet. The urine midstream should be least contaminated with anything in your urethra or bladder. Also, ...

Decent places to live in Vancouver area near transit to YVR?

Will be new to Vancouver and as the title says looking for an okay neighborhood with walking distance amenities and relatively quick access to YVR. Would like to have access to a large park or the waterfront. I was looking at Yaletown and Richmond but I really have no idea what those places are like...

Re: Didn't pass Cat 1 medical, what is going to happen next..?

I'm not sure if TC was involved or not but the doctor told me to abstain from sex for a few days and come back and give another sample. I did and passed with no problem. According to Google it's quite a common cause of protein in urine. I think you're likely fine. Talk to your doctor about it.

Just take the test again and abstain from orgasm for a few days before. Same thing happened to me before. It's very likely that that is the cause.

Looks like it melted off. That shaft is glowing hot with 400kt wind blowing on it. Oil problem maybe? Lucky it didn't catch on fire.

There’s a lot of senior Sunwing pilots on this last PIT course.
Probably a wise idea. With Transat and AC combining forces and WestJet getting a cash injection Sunwing is going to be facing stiff competition.

Does anyone know if they charge the air force the same fees? They get a lot of military trainers coming through so they might be doing this to gouge the government who will pay anything without batting an eye. Like the $600 hammer. Another idea is they know airplanes passing through YQT are crossing...

Air Transat and Transat brands to be maintained to complement the Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Vacations brands. Interesting point there, so the Transat brand will still be around. Does this mean the pilots will be integrated or remain separate as well? Here comes that C-scale. I won...

Looks like Mache Group has removed it's financing clause from it's offer. I don't know if they got the money from the Quebec government or elsewhere.
