Hi all,
Anyone out there in Canada with experience on the 727, and holding an EASA or JAR commercial licence?
Can you PM please?
Many thanks.

Re: One answer to fix the industry
Hey ho, my turn to ask you a question; and I expect a straight answer! Have you ever travelled outside of the continent of America for more than two weeks? You mean ASIDE from getting drunk at all-inclusive resorts during spring break? Hmmm, let's see. I've lived in 4 different countries other than...

Limit the number of entrants. +1 ... and limit the number of foreign pilots allowed to get work visas when so many qualified nationals are floating about. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:5NM_hHSNCKOmeM:http://dessertyears.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/whining.jpg Oh stop whining! Re: A380 Cockpit
In a sense you are right, it is a hand rest. But actually it's a “palm pad” with a track ball for the flight management system. It basically performs the same control functions as an ordinary computer mouse, but it can be operated more accurately in turbulence and under strong vibration. Here's a pi...

Re: Ornge Pilot Pay vs. Medics Pay
Just a quick thought, but have any of you medevac guys thought of contacting the EMT's union to see what they think about their "bothers and sisters" being flown around by uniform wearing non-unionized flight crew?
Just a thought!

Just found this on PPRuNe - comments anyone! http://www.pprune.org/canada/385042-should-all-canadian-air-ambulance-pilots-unionised.html Quote on another forum by donut king: “The CHL helicopter pilots flying for the ORNGE contract unionised a few years ago. Re: Cariboo Gear UP?
I don't recall any of the Airlines ever having this problem. When was the last time you heard of a 747 accidentally landing with the gear up? Lurch I don't recall many a 747s that don’t have GPWS! I think you should read this: http://www.avweb.com/news/pelican/188536-1.html  Nobody's perfect,...

Re: Cariboo Gear UP?
Just a thought, but I wonder if one or both the crew flew NC's Otter recently. Flying two aircraft types could cause confusion or environmental capture, which may have led to the wrong memory items being called without running a check list for confirmation! Either way, something has gone very wrong ...

Re: Snowbirds Grounded
The Tutor isn't an operational aircraft, and certainly isn’t selling Canada’s airborne defence products to foreign air forces, so why continue to use it. It's not in the interest of DND/CF to sell anything - Bombardier makes the money if they sell training, not us. So what benefit are the Snowbirds...

Re: Snowbirds Grounded
Nowadays the ROI on the Snowbirds is negligible. Airshows are for old people, take a look around next time you`re at one. Kids the would rather twitter their blogs and play with their wii-wii`s. Airplanes are so 1985. I agree, the ROI is limited here compared to the USA or UK, who have larger air f...

Re: Snowbirds Grounded
Applying that logic to the all aging aircraft in the civilian fleet would make for pretty empty skies, would it not? An interesting point Widow, however no commercially operated aircraft of this age should be expected to continue to perform close to its design limits, which is often the case with a...

What a great response from the St.Barths emergency crew. Looked like about 30 seconds before they were rolling - maybe they could see it was all going wrong way before the pilot did!!!

From "The Snow Walker" Oh! The point is why not hire a pilot born and raised in canada when so many are out of work, why hire an import.... Humm, when the engine initially "fails", the biggest a best landing site is just over his right shoulder!! Have a look on Google Earth and decide for yourself! Re: Southwest Pax briefing
I bet if there was an emergency on that flight, that crew would have been just as professional as you guys expect them to be. I think its great that some airlines try to have a little fun with their passengers and make them feel good rather than the usual AC crap "Welcome aboard, go f*ck yourself" ...
