Re: Pivot Air

You know what I can't figure out. Here we are in a time when any pilot job should be appreciated with so many on furlough, but instead of posting messages of support to people who are trying to keep people flying this forum is filled with negative post. People hide behind usernames and put the comp...

Re: Morningstar

Got a call last week. Interviewing tomorrow. Anyone know anything about their process? Couldn't find much online.
How many hours / experience do you have? Is it for the 208 spot? Or the ATR? Are you a laid off airline pilot?
The interview is for YYC ATR position. Around 5,000 TT. I...

Re: Aviation Jobs in High Demand?

GoodGuy wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2020 2:18 am Given the current state of affairs in the industry, are there jobs/trades in aviation (other than pilot) that are always in demand? I'm thinking of something you could start out as and transition into becoming a pilot easily. What kind of other skill would get you hired easily? Thx!

Re: A220 cruising altitude

I’ve been watching the A220 lately on the tracking apps and I’ve noticed the plane is averaging 28/29 thousand feet cruising altitude while the A320 doing the exact same routes at the same time is going way higher. Is there any limitations or specs that would explain that? https://news.aviation-saf...

Fellow aviators, These are troubling and unprecedented times. It stinks but such is life and the careers we made a choice to pursue in a delicate industry. For us folks just starting out and having people to feed on our low salaries with a most probable upcoming layoff, I feel for you...I am one of...

Heard from who? There’s a lot of speculation going on.
I got a reply from one of their recruiters saying that they have gone through a staffing change and are just a little behind right now.
Hope that’s the true.

Re: USA jobs for Canadians

I know a guy who was flying in Canada and was hired by Cape Air in the US. After one year he said he would be able to get a green card.
The whole process was done through an immigration lawyer, who charged him 20k us.

Yeah smart cockpit is pretty good to get Poh for training purposes.
Usually in interviews they will ask you about your current plane, unless you’re type rated on the same plane you’re applying for.

Re: Leaving with a bond?

Does anyone know if it’s legal or at least “okayish” to offer to pay the company back in a few monthly payments? If I have to leave and can’t afford the entire amount but offer to pay it in monthly payments, is the company still allowed to sue me?

Re: Regional Career

I’m 34 years old. I decided to spend my career as a regional pilot. The seniority that I would give up by going to a mainline carrier is not worth the extra money in my bank account. That extra money is basically just used to live in the expensive cities where mainline airlines are based. I have no...
