Re: Pasco/WJ Link travel benefits?

I have a buddy on the 1900 at Pasco and he uses the travel privileges at WestJet all of the time. He has a goal of flying every route on the WJA network.

Re: One List

I understand why you must be frustrated that reverse-flow is not in the proposals. It makes sense that you want the security of being able to flow back in case the airline hits bumps and needs to lay off pilots. It's not wrong to think that way, but you should also think about the reality of the sit...

Re: One List

You guys keep comparing WestJet to AC and the American legacies. What you fail to mention is that Jazz is not owned by Air Canada. ExpressJet is not owned by United. Encore is fully owned by WestJet. Encore is designed to support mainline from feeding passengers to flight crew members. Trying to min...

Re: Sunwing hires Swoop

Sunwing has been using other airlines to fill it's capacity needs for years. They've had deals where the wet/dry lease overseas aircraft, lease American aircraft, send their customers on other airlines scheduled flights (InterJet). This is not a stretch for Sunwing as they are down an aircraft compa...

Re: Federal Election — aircraft use

I haven't been able to find anything on Canada Jetlines except stock pricing and "Making Flying Suck Less" They're trying to go head to head with WestJet and Swoop. They say they'll get their first A320 in Q4 2019, but saying that, we are a week away from Q4 2019 and I have seen no booking availabi...

all immaterial to the true cause of these accidents. The true cause was that the pilots were not trained because the airlines were not notified of the way this system works. You can blame it on the pilots all that you want, but Boeing implemented MCAS to move the trim faster than it could be moved ...

Ground school class roughly every three weeks. If you have gotten a background check request, you're probably in. Expect a ground school date between 3-10 weeks from now. Ground school is 6 weeks in Calgary. Paid at the minimum monthly guarantee of 75 hours. If you are YYZ based, you can also expect...

Re: Future of Canada's Airline Industry

You need to ask yourself a serious set of questions. Do you want to make money? Do you want to have a family? Do you want to have a social life? Do you want to be able to make your own choices? If you have answered yes to any of these, you should consider banking. The aviation industry is booming ri...

Great, let's add the following line to everyone's offer letter: "Welcome to the family! You are, and will always be less than your siblings." Now I see where the confusion is. The list of people getting screwed as you declare does not expand with time. People not yet hired have no entitlement to anything. Anyone starting these days knows fully that they are walking into a quagmire of seniority problems. Frankly the number of pilots potentially affected is fixed. JJJ Grea...

Who will represent us when this pilot group finally goes to the union representation vote? ACPA, or ALPA?

What are some of our pain points with ACPA and ALPA right now?
If you go ALPA, you have the negotiating power and funds of 35 or so airlines.

This is the entire reason the One List is a dead duck to never be revived. Pilots are, our own worst enemy. West jet Pilots want some form of protection. Two WESTJET pilots wrote a great resolution to protect a portion of the Encore Group. Encore pilots saw this and threw their nose up in the air a...

She'll say that it's to reduce her carbon footprint, but it's really because of a lack of funds at the Green Party. --- Please...

No. If the resolution passes, all encore pilots hired before May 14, 2019, their senirority is made whole. Maintaining seniority start date on the westjet pilot senirorty list. Pilots after May 14, start to accrue more senirorty than new hires at encore. That won't bode well with the hundred or so ...

If they want them back they'll have to negotiate it along with their salary demands.
I don't think that the airlines in Canada would be able to get away with it. If I recall correctly, removing someone's benefits is akin to reducing their pay, which is considered to be constructive dismissal.
