Re: Why everyone runs to AC?

The first 4 years flat pay is dog shit, that's why negotiations for a new contract are underway. And to be honest, even we don't get a "World Class Contract" the majority are staying, and new pilots will continue to join. The unmatched job security and pension benefits at AC are significant factors....

Re: Why everyone runs to AC?

I decided to pursue a career as a pilot with Air Canada for several reasons. Firstly, the airline offers unparalleled job security and lifestyle flexibility, which are crucial considerations for any pilot. Moreover, the pension benefits provided by Air Canada are substantial; projections indicate th...

Re: Is being Relief Pilot detrimental to career

+1 People who are not even work for AC or never had RP position can talk shit all they want. The true is, many RP I talked to love their schedule, the European, Asian layover, day off etc. And had no issue transition back to FO or CA. However, I do agree we should get rid of RP position for the next...

Re: Relief Pilot hour logging

:bear: They do the same IPT and SIM. But obviously not takeoff and landing part during IOE. You’re right, It used to be different course, RP used to go through a much quicker and shorter course. Many RP rushing through and had to book IPT/SIM in their spare time. So when MS came in he changed that t...

Re: FO Private Jet or Jazz

Congrats! If coming to AC is your final goal, I'll go to Jazz. First the salary is around the same as private jet company. Second, learn the 705 operation in early stage of your aviation career will be benefitable. We have couple new hires at AC struggling transitioning from 604/703/704 to AC in the...

Yes they do, it says 777CRP 787CRP 330CRP on their booklet. It's a type rating restricted for cruise only. RP go through the same training as FO. Plus the left seat emergency during cruise. How about when CA in the bunk? Does he log time when he's sleeping? Or the FO. They are not flying when sleepi...

Re: Why do pilots keep taking concessions?

Yes he's talking about AC, we do have couple 703/704 ATR FO/Dash FO and recently upgraded to PC12 CA before they join AC Latest batch had a recently "upgraded" PC12 FO who was a FO on a Caravan AC's training program is not designed for PC12 FOs The experience levels are a serious concern but they se...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Actually, it's a conditional offer, I've heard it's a different offer than what OTS guys are getting. Most likely they will honor the offer but you never know, nothing is 100% FYI, to the July 26 PIT. There are approximately 560 pilots hired since Jan 2023. With this rate of 35-40 people in each cla...

You probably never work for AC correct? I just check each fleet's schedule, and even with some junior FO, it's 12-14 days working on the narrow body. Wide body RP are working less than 14 days and laying over in Rome, Vienna, Lisbon...etc People are making shit up, in my last company one captain tol...

Re: Maybe we should work together?

MS went to jazz ground schools and told the new hire, if they to leave jazz within short time and apply as external from other airlines. He will personally make sure these people don't get hired for at least 4 years to AC. One of my buddy in jazz told me, can anyone confirm? I don't think AC pilots ...

Re: New pay scale Aug 1 Dash and E2

Yes, it's good for everybody, it's the best time in Canadian aviation to negotiate our pay. With AC's pension plan(CWIPP) and stock buying/matching program(ESOP). You saved way more money at AC. Also don't forget benefits and insurance are 100% covered at AC. Like above already mention, YOS don't ca...
