Re: CANJET DOING GREAT!

85k in the Maritimes is alot of money???? Highest taxed province in the country, the NDP wants to raise the HST and property tax is just plain too much. It would be great if you got something more for it, but you don't. The only thing remotely cheap there is real estate, and that depends on where yo...

Priceline.com is the best way to go sometimes. Name your price and you can get lucky with a $65 31/2 star hotel room.

Re: Thought's on the industry.

There's plenty of oil in the world to meet demand for quite some time. Newfoundland continues to find new offshore oil fields and it has been said that Hibernia may be grossly underestimated (just one example). Lack of refineries is the problem. As for return on your investment...............didn't ...

I remember about 7 years ago, Congress was talking about allowing pilots in Canada to be able to work in the US just like nurses. Never happened because 9/11 happened shortly thereafter. Green cards are hard to comeby unless you get married to an american or the airlines would sponsor you into the c...

well.....they are now. Good thing it's not like the time the company trying to get approval for differences training from a -200 to a -500. They got the approval shorty after everybody was online with the -500. Potential savings down the drain.

Sorry...I brought up WJ & C6 to respond to the Pancake guy who claims that C6 should only hire Atlantic Canadians.. Inverted, I agree with you there. It might not be worth it in the end. But extra cost on top of Ferry/dead-heading (accommodations, per diems, etc...) can chew on profits. Let's just ...

AC corporate passes are normally used to deadhead crews to where they have to go. If something cheaper comes up like Tango fares or WestJet, they'll buy those and save the corporate passes for later. It's all built into the cost structure. Sometimes the pairing will start in YUL and end in YHZ, savi...

Be interesting to see a CanJet paint scheme on an NG... same thing I guess with some logos on the winglets, and the 737-500 is a classic already? So what are the 200's? "Old and decrepid?" I was at Boeing's Renton factory last week and the video they had refered to the 300/400/500's as classics. I ...

Fact or fiction? We'll all believe it when we actually see the airplanes being boarded. Two newsletters came out. One announcing the plans to replace the fleet with NG's, starting this December. Transport has approved us to be crossed trained on both NG's and Classics. In other words, get the differ...

oh, and btw, the incident to St. Maarten had to do with an MEL on the bleed valve. The aircraft was restricted to FL250 and required a fuel stop. The reason for massive delay and overnight in NAS, not SMX, was far more complex. That's the past. As if........... who cares! My last trip down that way...

Operating NG's out YHZ would save alot of fuel and headaches, especially to PUJ/POP. Flying the classics along the shoreline is a waste of time and fuel these days. There's fuel savings and more seats available for these routes. Also, I hear a deal has been struck to hand over the classics to the le...

Don't forget, the base is in Halifax, the majority of the work is done out Quebec, Montreal, Toronto and where ever they send us. It's stupid to start to talking about the economic situation in Atlantic Canada. Can it work? Sure it can. The only question remains is how long Rowe plans on sticking ar...
