Re: ATPL workarounds?

You could just do a Group 1 IPC on a muti engine at a flight school to get your unrestricted ATPL. That is your cheapest alternative. Reference from TC: Read it carefully, do the IPC at a flight school, and you get the restricted atpl. To get unrestricted it must be a two crew ride for an operator ...

Re: E2 FO hiring

Hello

Is Porter looking to hire E2 FOs for the remainder of the year and 2027? How much do FOs fly in a year? Are the newer FOs on reserve or can hold a block?

Thank you!

Re: Canadian ATPL

The Requirements for the ATPL are listed below. In order to write the exam you require half of the the total time (1500/2=750 hours). No course is required to write the exam, you can do self-study. No letter of recommendation is required for admission to the exam. Simply show up at a TC office with...

I am aware of the hiring experience requirements for FO's? Is it firm given the current hiring environment? Are the requirements lowered with an internal reference?

Re: Importance of the ability to fly into the US

Was wondering if anyone has an idea regarding this. I'm landing as PR later this year and will be converting my license and be out on a job hunt. Well my doubt is regarding most operators and airlines that fly into US and the fact that I don't have a Canadian passport. I've seen few job openings th...

Re: FAA Instrument Renewal in Canada?

I know that a FAA IPC can be attained with FAA instructors on a foreign registered aircraft. That test would automatically provide instrument currency on the TC side.

There are a few FAA instructors here in Canada who could be of help. I have seen a couple of ads on here.

Re: Northern operator as a first job?

I’m thinking of heading north and drop my resume around. Which operators have historically hired newbies for FO and/or ramp to flight positions? I’m particularly interested on turboprop medevac ops (Keewatin, Air Tindi…). Keewatin's current contracts require 500 hours minimum. Not sure about Air Ti...

Get the form from your regional office, or download it: http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/wwwdocs/Forms/24-0044E_1308-07_E.pdf fill it in saying why a permit is required and the intended route. Have it countersigned by an AME familiar with the aircraft to say it's in a safe condition for the intended flight ...
