Re: Is the 4 year flat pay worth it?

That guy... He was asking how to plan a cross country flight only a couple months back. No credibility as far as working in this business, or managing a career in it, let alone at an airline level, is concerned. Here you go Vermont: http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewforum.php?f=3 Come on back when...

Re: Is the 4 year flat pay worth it?

Don't discourage his fresh-out-of-flight school insights. They're so valuable. As he pointed out, he's so very wise. If you can't explain why I'm wrong, you just end up sounding like more of an ass than I do My explanation is 250 hrs long... Mr 250 I wasn't talking to you, it's nice having my own s...

Re: Is the 4 year flat pay worth it?

If you think aviation is the only industry that does this, you need to reevaluate. Every industry and every profession has their own variety of “work ramp up north for poverty wages for years first”. I agree lots of industries have a "do your time phase" but I can't think of any professional career...

Re: Applying for new jobs

Some European kids spent well over 100,000 Euros and do not get hired. Bit of perspective... Nobody forces anybody to drive forklifts, but if you want a shot, it doesn't hurt. At least here, we have a chance at any point in our lives. It is all over in most countries, if you don't have your act tog...

Re: Is the 4 year flat pay worth it?

You think a job that exceeds the median household income in this country and moves you into top 5% of income earners in a hurry, and then surely after that moves you into the very top percentile is being exploited? Don't get me wrong, we don't get paid enough, but exploited we are not. How many peo...

Re: How long can you wait after completing your cpl to file the paperwork

TC is using global exemptions to try to avoid disadvantaging anyone who could not meet calendar limits due to the Corona Virus. The 30 day limit for retesting after a partial failure has just been exempted. I would wait until July. If the current restrictions on flight training are still in place I...

As long as there is cargo to move around the globe I'd rather think the 737 will take the hit.
Definitely sounds like a good time to be at Encore.
Anyone that is at Encore is very likely gone in the next month....plus half the jet folks.

Re: Applying for new jobs

I can't imagine anybody is hiring at this point. As a CP of a 703 company, I generally try to respond to most applications even if we are not hiring. Ive certainly seen an increase in applications lately, but hard to say if thats virus related or seasonal. I don't think it is really poor etiquette ...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

Any reason why they wouldn't reply to someone with 4600+hrs 800+hrs multi turbine time with multi-crew and FMS experience? Application has been sitting for months. Done a few updates but nothing. I feel like I'm doing something horribly wrong but none of my friends can tell me what. The thing you d...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

As the title states I'm sitting at 1000+ hrs. Trying to figure out the next move. All depends whether you score enough diversity points with Jazz. I have 1900 hours with ATPL signed off, 900 multi turbine time. Got PFOd. Personally, I though it was the best interview experience that I've ever had, ...

Re: Were airlines sacrificed for the Nation ?

US Airlines received 50 Billion dollars of Federal Aid. Many other countries came to the rescue of their respective airlines. Canada’s airlines received NOTHING although they spent Millions flying hundreds of thousands of stranded Canadians home. Canada’s great repatriation effort of its citizens s...
