A lot of talk about first year pay. What about year 2? Curious about the Africa Dash 8 pay. Do many people stick around for a second tour? I understand not too many stick around. Gone as soon as the bond is up. Dont know bout 2nd year pay raise on the Dash, but the way they operate I seriously doub...

Re: VAL Africa and Hiring
And as for the 36K for KA captain, is this really true? If it is, that's crazy. I can't believe that someone who is qualified to fly KA would even accept that job. Absolutely true. Sad sad sad isn't it? Wonder if MOH and MNR know what the captains are paid for flying their patients and clients. I k...

Hey just to clarify, I was looking at their job ad for the King Air and the pay is listed as 26K for FO. As far as I know and unless the pay has changed (yeah right) in North Bay FO pay is a measly 24K and Capt is an even more measly 36K . The 26K and 50K to my knowledge are for the dedicated bases ...

There may be a handful of guys in Seneca or any college for that matter that have good hands and feet and understand systems well enough to adapt but the reality is, most are simply 250 hour pilots with a fresh IFR and a bit of sim time. Nothing more!!! Oh yes MORE! You forgot swollen heads thinkin...

Me: 5500tt 3500 jet pic ZP From what I've been told, you are overqualified. Apparently the way AC sees it is that you will become disgruntled with the low starting wage a lot sooner than a 2000 hr wonder. To the low timer 37K will most likely be a raise and if anything will improve their standard o...

YEAH RIGHT! Good luck with that! Hard to do between drinks!

This has probably been pointed out before, but the 500 MPIC requirement is for all the contract work they have. The government sets the bar there for Captains, and you are upgraded very fast, so they need you to be ready to go. The Government does indeed set the bar. What companies like Voyageur ne...

Do you know what AC and Jazz are paying their pilots to fly jets? 24K is a sweet deal especially now that the guys in those positions are 1500 hour instructors. You still need 500 Multi PIC or close to it before you get your 24K "sweet deal". If you have 1500 and 500 MPIC then you can now find way ...

The "rumor" is they are just playing the game. Rumor says that they will never even start. They just want AC to buy them out. Again.....rumor. But this is the suspicion of many pilots that have worked for Deluce for many years and they all say this is what he is trying to do. Actually the truth is ...

Its amazing how much we get worked up over something so small. No wonder throughout history we have been going to war over so many trivial things. We are supposed to be professionals and loosing your cool is not the way to do it. CRM issue? I completely agree! If this scenario had played out on the ...

The pilots are happy, they got a great boss Most definitely not what I've heard! I know some of the pilots there, past and present and I gotta tell ya, what "the bandit" wrote made me laugh. 5 GDOs a month. WOW!!! Can you take em all in a row or do you have to take them in 12 hour chunks? Sorry ban...

Interesting topic I must say, but before complaining about how much money the taxpayer is dishing out here have you considered how much of our money is blown away in other areas by our system. MedEvac flights to and from all the reservations for example cost a fortune. I'm not saying that they shoul...

That's not that tasteful considering someone just died last night from a great safe company. My comment was in no way referring to the OA crash. I did not know about it when I wrote the original message. All I was saying was that its good that it got stopped before disaster happened. My deepest con...
