Re: Zero Jazz flying(YWG)
No RJ departures out of YYC at all and few Q departures. Are you sure you know what you are talking about? I know for a FACT that there are crj departures out of yyc on the regular..... If you're referencing the AC timetable; don't it's been wrong post COVID (still shows aircraft types no longer fl...

Re: Zero Jazz flying(YWG)
Recently told that there is zero Jazz flying scheduled out of YWG this winter and there is only one 320 to YYC, obviously things are worse than originally thought. No RJ departures out of YYC at all and few Q departures. Are you sure you know what you are talking about? I know for a FACT that there...

ATPL exams and expiry?
Hey all, just a question I'm not totally clear on. Currently a CPL with my IATRA written last fall and I know they are good for 2 years and then have to be re written. My question is regarding the SAMRA AND SARON, I recall reading somewhere that once written you have 2 years to obtain a 2 crew posit...

Re: Reasons to NOT choose Encore
What's the current payscale at encore? Latest one. It hasn't changed in a few years. Contract negotiations should begin next year. https://i.imgur.com/pMODFzz.png 75MMG/900 guaranteed hours per year ~2% pay increase per year ~$3.45/hour away from base (pairing start to pairing end) per diem, increa...

Re: MOA
Is anyone willing to post what a typical 1st year FO would take home for pay? Somebody posted a full month pay stub in the WJ mainline forum which was really helpful, including per diems and all deductions including health insurance and taxes etc. Would be really helpful to know what an avg monthly ...

Ah, I see, yeah I can imagine pilots at WJ would not have been happy about Swoop starting out and hiring other pilots at a lesser wage. This makes more sense now, appreciate the reply!

Re: AIP is dogshit
I will agree with the sentiment above, you need to see the whole doucment before voting "no". If you read every single North American contract the #1 item is always scope. Without scope you can be paid the best wages in the world, only to see them "swooped" away by an alter ego carrier. From what I...

Re: PASCO
Going to the back of the plane to make sure everyone is buckled and give personal briefings and then stooping back to the cockpit like a homo habilis. I always wore a thong so people couldn’t see my underwear lines. Omg, haha. It's posts like this that make reading thru all the threads a little mor...

Re: IATRA validity
Yes, you can fly a 1900 in a commercial operation, as PIC, without an ATPL. As stated above, it's not a 2 crew aircraft so no ATPL required. But, also as stated above, SIC counts with a letter from your CP stating it's operated 2 crew. Confused yet?? :| Well this is all clear as mud. Basically, I w...

Re: Currency
Just don't let it go 5 years since you acted as PIC or SIC or it's a pain in the ass to get back. Yes I could definitely see that and with all the news lately of plummeting case counts and airlines restarting cancelled routes I'm hopeful that demand will pickup within the coming months. I definitel...

I'd be careful letting my medical lapse, with TC having a huge backlog you never know what you might have to deal with Yeah that's fair but if I'm not mistaken, isn't your medical considered valid again right at the doc's office once he stamps your book and signs off? As far as the sticker in the m...

Hey all, just something I've been pondering for a while. Like most I've been patiently waiting for things to pick back up again but it's been almost 16 months since I last flew and I'm not sure how much longer it will be before I'm able to get back into a flying gig (I was a low time FO with a regio...

Re: How The Heck Do You Get Into Tofino?
I've often wondered this and in fact after reading this post I flew this actual flight on my sim. So the way I see it, is most likely you will be talking to ATC anyways and leaving NAGLI you would be westbound so say at 6000' and you would be cleared direct to TEXEC maintain 6000 until TEXEC at whic...
