Totally conceivable the two would have separate readings. It is extremely difficult to get an accurate alcohol reading after they have spe...

Re: Carson Air Captain blood alcohol 0.24 at time of crash.
I wouldn't go jumping to any conclusions yet. It's not uncommon in cases where bodies have been difficult to extract to find unusually high blood alcohol levels. Natural occurring blood sugars actually ferment in the body. In the past there have been many cases where alcohol has formed post-mortem. ...

Re: new 2 crew member rule
I'm surprised nobody has brought up the Air Egypt accident a few years back. Very similar, except there were two crew in the cockpit. The Captain trying to recover while the FO shut off the engines and sabotaged the controls. Having another person in the cockpit only makes it slightly more difficult.

Re: The Dornier 228 Job Ad
Yes, flying sucks. I would love to have a break from it...especially if I get to slug freight and clean toilets! Nobody owes you a flying job. Take what works for you. Me, I love flying with well rounded people who work hard. I've flown with all types, but these are the ones you want to hang...

I flew the medevac contract with Borek before Keewatin took it over out of Iqaluit. My two years up there my T4's both were over $70,000. I have since gone on to better things.
Seeing what Keewatin is paying for the same job, ouch.
Good luck guys.

Re: POV cam
What are you flying? I find 30 fps (frames per second) is the same as 1800 frames per minute. A prop adjusted to 1800 rpm tends to appear stationary. Depending on what you fly, with a little trial and error you may be able to shoot between blades. And yes, I clicked on this because of the title. App...

I like it.
Expanding on #4 above. The airplane is a tool, learn to use it properly, stay current. You not only don't want to kill yourself in it, you don't want to kill the pilot who uses it after you.
Don't instruct for too long.

Weather Flying, by Robert Buck. Written by an experienced pilot, looking at weather from a pilot's perspective. Not too hard of a read either.

I for one, feel the national anthem is not sexist enough. From the country that brought you Pamela Anderson, we can be a little more racy.

Hit Costco and pick up a large box of Fruitsource bars, the ones with vegetable servings. And some protein bars. Not only does eating in restaurants cost alot, it is hell on the waistline.
