Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

Rudder, purely as an aside conversation, I thought that ADP was authorized to distribute existing funds from what is essentially either a charter account or an account wholly managed by the corporation, with access authorization to ADP. I'm only basing this on what I've seen from looking at small s...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

Yes, most have, a few in institutions are slower than others. Pay day is the 15th, oh look it's still the 15th. Not ideal optics, but still going to work tomorrow. Ideal optics?? It’s bad enough for the company to acknowledge it, adding in the fact 25 million is being withheld now as well says a lo...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

I think the moral of the story is don't trust AC (or really any corporation). They'll lie and cheat if it's the best option they see available. Their word has no value. Look after for yourself and your fellow pilot . Act with honesty and integrity, but understand it's a one way street. Lots of Jazz...

If that were true - close the doors.

Most companies would cease operations PRIOR TO missing a payroll deadline. If the planes are flying, it probably is just a rumour.

Re: Years of service

Really? The WJ pilot contract will prevail for the merged pilot group. The SW pilots will become WJ pilots. And yes, upon implementation one of the upsides will be YOS for pay for the former SW pilots. I hope you're right Rudder. Cause if you're right it would mean that sw pilot hired in 2015 who u...

In Jones's world, it's never Flair's fault and litigation is the answer. So essentially the regulator doesn’t want the ...

Re: Transat or Porter?

…load means nothing. Yield is the true measure of profitability. Lynx could have sold 189 seats at $50 per ticket all in yielding $0 net revenue after AIF, NavCanada, fees etc. Porter can sell 77 to YYJ, mostly retirees, who clean out the buy on board, bring (and pay for) luggage and that flight is...

Re: DEC Jazz

Which part do you have a problem with, that is the agreement and how it is supposed to work. Do you think the grievance process won’t accomplish anything? Entitled means exactly that, they are supposed to get the benefit of 60%, now 30% flow. At some point an arbitrator will remedy this, to say it ...

Re: DEC Jazz

If someone showed up with the experience I’m sure a DEC position is open at Jazz but with a starting hourly rate of around $110/hr they won’t be getting too many applicants. Hiring these days is mostly ~1000 hr pilots who are not even close in hours or experience to upgrade. Porter is an example of...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

Can someone explain why they decided to file a complaint with the CIRB instead of a grievance with the company? I was under the impression that it was to get AC named/involved in the complaint but as rudder mentioned they are not. Since the violation there hasn’t been any communication to explain t...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow

There’s some pretty smart math people out there. Actuaries can probably figure out some kind of equation here. If required, it could be calculated I’m sure I’m not aware of any metric out there so they would setting a precedent for future cases. Not only did they loose upgrade potential at AC and r...

Read the entire document. Arrears to suppliers. Arrears to CRA (with a payment arrangement in place). Arrears to third parties where fees were collected but not remitted. Forced to seek protection from creditors due to pending collection action from the GTAA and Delta. 5 (that’s right….5) bridge loa...

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65

Sounds fun. I love a good public court tribunal with everyone’s laundry aired out on the clothes’ line. People wanna work past 65… all the power to you. And yea, you probably won’t be occupying a front desk seat. Every carrier either has or will have to deal with this as Federally regulated employe...

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65

Both the employer and the JAZ MEC are betting this LOU will withstand a CHRT challenge. I am not convinced. It is very narrow. Perhaps too narrow. What do you mean? Almost all of our flying is to the US in the east. If they can’t legally fly there what’s the company supposed to do? There’s still Q4...

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65

Other areas of the CBA requiring modification for post Age 65: 1. Pension (DB) - to allow for accrual after age 65 2. STD/LTD - are post age 65 pilots allowed to go on disability? For how long? 3. CPP/EI - contributions are mandatory (CPP excepted if employee is receiving CPP benefit) Turned out pr...
