RCAF "Aircraft Mathematics" Book

This book belonged to my Dad's uncle, and I'm looking to see if anybody has any knowledge or history with respect to this book and it's use within the RCAF. The book does have my Dad's uncle's name in it and what i am guessing is is service number "R7XXXX", but i would certainly appreciate any insig...

Re: PPL (on tailwheel) at Canadian Flight Centre

I counted down the height verbally from fifty feet to wheel contact, that really helped them get the picture...and I explained there they should be looking at each part of the approach, flare, hold off and touch down.. I'm no instructor, but I think Cat's comment is golden. I struggled with landing...

Boom - Supersonic Aircraft

I came across this company on LinkedIn ( http://boom.aero/ ). Anybody know anything about this company? I know nothing about aircraft manufacturing, but seems very aggressive to me that they will be flying a prototype next year, although there seems to be an experience "Team" behind it. Is this for ...

Re: Up front cash

so being s PPL, i don't have any insight into the realities of bonds, but it got me thinking about a business deal that I recently completed. Rather than paying the money to an employe, does anyone in the industry use a lawyer trust fund instead whereby the money is held in trust by a lawyer? that w...

Re: Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?

thanks guys, i do realize they went digital only some time ago, hence why i posted the link. But nonetheless, I did get a response from the ASL Editor indicating that TC has experienced some delays in 2014, hence there will only be a third and final ASL for 2014, which he kindly sent me in advance o...

Has TC stopped publishing the Aviation Safety Letter?

Does anyone know if Transport Canada has stopped producing the aviation safety letter? the last one on their website (http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/publications/tp185-menu-5395.htm) is issue 2/2014 which was produced in July, but nothing since. I haven't seen any announcements about the publ...

NavCanada E-Cap

I just noticed that NavCanada is now selling the Cap and Cap Gen in electronic format, labeling it "E-Cap". In reading it seems that they are providing the Cap in PDF format, just as they did in Feb-Apr 2010 when they pooched the publication and had to then provide them electronically. I realize the...

Another ridiculist candate???

As a private pilot, i generally think of the minimum equipment list as the "bare bones essentials" for safe operations of a commercial aircraft. However, today I was scheduled on a flight from Atlanta-YYZ on a Delta CRJ, and once we were all boarded and sitting comfortably, the captain came on and s...

What makes an aircraft IFR certified?

I've been searching the CAR's, and all I could find was 605.18 listing the equipment required for IFR flight, but is there anything further required than that and a C of A? Some googling yielded some FAA requirements of yearly pitot-static certification, but I couldn't find anything specific to Cana...
