Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?
Start up another regional carrier at a much lower cost. That's what will happen. Still a pilot problem... there aren't enough out there. From an AC management email to employees: "Yesterday, we announced our intent to expand the commercial agreement under which PAL Airlines operates regional flight...

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?
Claude invoking article 35 is really a joke. He wants to drag this as long as he can so people are scared of changing him and “slow the process”. Honestly, just pay the 286 pilots a 6 digit settlement, a pay anniversary adjusted and we’ll sign. The ulp will be over with. Honestly, just cut the 286 ...

Jazz is getting bought and integrated, extra 1100 pilots on property will ensure a good surplus  Only been hearing that one for 20 years now. 😂 On the other hand, hiring has slowed to a trickle, fins being removed from fleet, no new orders on the horizon but they are hiring F/As for some reaso...

Only been hearing that one for 20 years now. 😂 On the other hand, hiring has slowed to a trickle, fins being removed from fleet, no new orders on the horizon but they are hiring F/As for some reason while the pilot numbers continue to shrink. This is very off topic, but f/a negotiations are coming ...

Re: Air Canada summer/fall hiring
I see What does that mean for those who aren’t express Is this going to delay or simply just PFO those who are in the running but not express ? Don't worry, they only need 30% of their new hire from jazz and hasn't been honoring that number usually They haven't even gotten to hiring the 30% group y...

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?
Yup, CIRB is done. No reason to hold your breath ULP filed in the end of 2023… I don’t think anyone is holding their breath anymore. Maybe if the Jazz MEC didn’t wait a year to file the ULP it would be settled already. They did not wait a year, they filed it the day after the contract was ratified ...

That’s your best comeback? As the saying goes; “the facts don’t care about your feelings.” Hats off to CUPE as you have completely tricked the public into sympathy with the bs about unpaid work. Along with the gender / alphabet people nonsense. 🦀🦀🦀 This attitude pretty much sums up why we had 10 ye...

Additionally now it's common knowledge that Air Canada's former legal counsel chairs the CIRB. I'm sure they have no vested interest in the outcome...

Re: Does anyone know what the MEC is actually trying to get out of the ULP?
Will the cirb cover the ULP before the return to work order under article 107, or they get expedited treatment because it affects the corporation’s bottom line. Well considering the CIRB handed a decision down within one day on a SUNDAY and the ULP has been ongoing since the harm happened 3 years a...

They were doing so well until this…🥺 https://cupe.ca/air-canada-reinforcing-gender-wage-gap-and-they-want-government-help-them-do-it I'm pretty sure there is nothing factually incorrect about that. All of the training is in Toronto so you will probably be at the yyz hotel until your sim training is complete, and then you will be responsible for being at your assigned base when you start line training. I don't know the exact contract language. I'm assuming you are not living in Toronto now? Cr...

Not even considering the expenses, pilots on the new contract should vote for reps that are also on the new contract. Unless you are green circled your interests are not being represented by this MEC.

Re: ALPA signing new agreements with training bonds
:!: 5. The frank purpose of training bonds is coercion against employment mobility. Pilots subject to training bonds escape forfeiture only where they remain employed for a minimum period of time, often years. In effect, they create a form of indentured service. Indentured service & worse working c...

As a turbine captain at a 703 operation with never having worked at a 705 operation, why aren’t First Officers being upgraded or upgrading at Encore? Every First Officer at my 703 operator can’t wait to get the hours and upgrade, we also have more captains than first officers due to captains can be...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
I feel like some of you have lost the plot. The issue here is between Air Canada management and ALL the groups that continue to get fucked over. It is not Jazz pilots versus Air Canada pilots. Instead of throwing insults maybe educate yourselves first. Here is some context: https://www.canlii.org/en...
