Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
bravo papa Reb Well Reb for your information everytime we book a flight with WJ we explain EXACTLY what our daughter's handicap is and they don't have a problem with it!!! I guess it's you who gets the big surprise. Also unless you have a handicapped child don't say what you would or would not do. ...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
bravo papa You mentioned in previous posts that you have a handicapped daughter, which you send UM. Are you not aware that all carrier's has to be informed that your daughter is handicapped, if you’re sending her as UM? You might get a big surprise... Hmm there’s no way I would send any handicapped...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
According to the news reports there was an out of court cash settlement in addition to other goodies....By the way AC carried 45,000 UM's last year without attracting media attention but I digress. The first time we sent our daughter as a UM was with Air Canada and they let her walk off the plane i...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
I sent an email to WestJet and this is the response I got from the Manager of Guest Relations. Doesn't sound real hopeful to me!! "Thanks for the support. We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of the program. What we determine will allow us to make the right decision whether to continue...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
BP. The "pervert" didn't hide the little girl under his coat. I'm willing to bet she walked right by the FA(s) and agent(s) and they may have even looked at her but were not thinking or too "busy" with whatever. How many FAs are carried on a typical 737? Probably enough to keep their eye on the kid...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
There seems to be much emphasis on that big tag. I don't think it is a big deal. I have watched how it's done on my flights (sorry I don't have the FA manual) and at boarding the agent introduces the UM to the in-charge (these days known as the Service Director at AC, oooh!) and hands over the pape...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
If you guys looked at how the procedure is supposed to work you'd understand the guy being there or not should have made no difference. I know exactly how the "procedure" works as I have used it many times for our handicapped daughter over the past 5 or 6 years. WestJet has been fantastic and very ...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk 5-year-old girl off flight
My spidey senses tell me the guy who walked the girl off the plane is 100% to blame for this incident. He had NO BUSINESS walking her off the plane. If he was concerned for her safety he would have approached a FA and let them deal with it. He is the one who should be investigated and or sued. We ha...

Re: WestJet allows stranger to walk five-year-old girl off fligh
We have used WJ at least a dozen times to fly our daughter and they have been excellent. For those who say they would never send their child as a UM it must be nice. We can't all afford the time or money to accompany our kids to go and visit relatives. If an airline is good enough to provide this se...

Retailers in Canada may have bought their Christmas stock in August but markup is typically 100% at the retail level. There is a lot of wiggle room for setting the actual selling price. Retailers tend to sell at a price based on demand and not absolutely on cost. You can bet your bottom Canadian do...

I'm talking from personal experience. I've been on a number of convoys in a number of different places. I can tell you from first hand experience that with the threat of being blown up, I don’t give two shits whether I offend the other driver in my way. And I care even less about whether people bac...

One word answer to your question: Envy" A better one word answer is: Bullies. Very typical of anyone who is bigger and more powerful. I don't think it is anything to be envious about. Bush is not a self made millionaire!! He got his $$$$$ from Daddy and is getting richer at the expense of the Ameri...
