Re: The Campaign

The problem isn’t the jump booking tool it was the process after that between the booking and the flight and actually sitting in the seat. Not the fact “that in this day of” That’s why it’s still intact in other airlines but like anything tho processes will change. Just glad they are working on a fi...

**** wrote: Tue Apr 27, 2021 2:19 pm So these people donate their time for free? And they got fired?
This is such a misleading statement as they get flight relief and pay for those days... the volunteer piece stops after they put their hand up to do the job. It’s a shame most are commuters and wish to stay home.

Re: Air Canada and Government of Canada Conclude Agreements on Liquidity Program

No way. Rousseau is not going anywhere - at least not until this is done. He will have this thing turned as soon as the travel gates re open. The debts will be repaid in short order with interest and the board will give him a fat payday for seeing covid through. The stock will make gains, the gover...

Re: More WJ layoffs

Whether there will me more layoffs or not is going to be an interesting thing to see unfold. I fall somewhere in the middle of the overly optimistic / overly pessimistic spectrum in terms of recovery. The fact so many Canadian's were willing to travel this winter when given the chance says a lot. Z...

850 raised @ 10-15 mil burn per-day gone in 2-3 mos
Hope it gets better sooner rather than later but I honestly can’t see it being a summer where everyone wants to travel just yet.

This is going to arbitration anyway you slice it. I agree history is indeed the teacher and I would expect with past precedent set it will be a quick decision or ruling. Alpa and acpa are already preparing with alpa wanting date of hire pure and simple but my money is on a formula.

Re: Retirements at Westjet

Hopefully they get their jobs back. What an embarrassing excuse of an airline WestJet is becoming. From some of the best employee relations to this. It's embarrassing. If they don't get their jobs back, hopefully the membership stands up to fight. In my experience If ya don’t know the full story be...

But this is avcanada where only the gang mentality hangs out! Calling others names and providing statements like “get help”!
I enjoyed the insight to the meeting video and if you think alpa is any different....same clowns , different circus.

Accountability for these guys and many of the committees has been questionable at best. It’s systemic with committee people as well always living away from the office fornicating the dog at home.

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?

Is yet another thread going to be hihacked into an unrelated debate? NO. On topic of AC and CCAA from now on, please, gentlemen! How about we talk about the $1.6B getting raised, and how AC almost certainly won’t go into CCAA in 2020! Perhaps AC has enough liquidity to roll into Q2 20201. Everyone ...

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?

I tend to agree. A lot of other posters base their assumptions that the recovery will be quick. I don’t think it will be. Watching other indicators around the country and world such as tge reluctance to open our own provincial borders. Our burn rate of cash seems to have a consensus of 25-30 mil per...

To all those people who thought/said ONEX purchase was a step forward. Wrong. They are corporate raiders. Period. Now they need to get their money out of Westjet by any means possible. Look out below. Everything is on the table. Lol I’ve been watching your hypothesis on the industry hate for years....

Re: A "NEW" One List?

Cloak, I believe Mainline and Encore and not comparable due to layoff pay provisions/EI top up in the mainline CA. Here’s some rough math/counting of the cost of a 75% EI top up on the 1000 June 1st layoffs. I roughly assumed an average FO rate of $105 and 4 YOS. June 1st layoff comprises of 460 CA...

Re: A "NEW" One List?

The radio silence shows disrespect for the 700 pilots who will be laid-off by week's end, and the other 1000 who will follow, not only to fail to mitigate lay-offs but also to fail to transparently, timely and professionally communicate the facts. Much less would ordinarily cause a recall. Experien...

Re: A "NEW" One List?

I think it’s always easy for pilots to point out it’s always the company fault (see above) yet they have no communication from the union. Not sticking up for anyone here. There isn’t a lot of time in these types of negotiations and shit has to get done. Gotta laugh at those comments flyinghigh becau...

“They” meaning your negotiating committee. The NC guys with years of experience? Sorry. I know sensitive times. Guess you won’t know until the questions are asked but that would be a great question to ask on what the minimum guarantee proposal(s) was. Really sad to hear none of this came back to the...

Re: A "NEW" One List?

I think the short term concession MMG of 55 or even 50 would have been given for a longer MOA pretty easily, I could see differing the ESP until certain metrics are met by the company.... Under the circumstances likely most agree, so the question remains why the union has not communicated the offer...

Exactly. Delaying the bid delays taking care of increasing surplus which in turn burns more cash.
