Curious if there are mock ups or small motion or non-motion simulators for sale?
I’m open to any suggestions?

Re: Flight schools and their status?
Seems at least in Ontario, if the school offers commercial pilot licenses, they can't offer private instruction since they're regulated by the Private Careers Colleges Act, but small schools that only offer private instruction can do whatever they would like since they are not regulated by the prov...

Re: All Pilot Layoff
I’m curious on what percentage of the pilots are laid off from our Canadian carriers big and small? I know that 100% of Porter pilots are home and it’s sad to see but curious on the other carriers. Sad indeed Just make note that there are two different types of layoff right now. There are those tha...

Re: Flight training still open during Ontario province-wide lockdown?
I assume training for the private pilot licence is not essential so that training shouldn’t be allowed. Once again, I remind you that (with a few exceptions) there is no list of activities that are and aren't allowed. Only businesses (or parts of businesses) that are permitted to open. In reality I...

Re: Flight training still open during Ontario province-wide lockdown?
So if I wanted to take training for the recreational permit right now under the lockdown I couldn’t do it until the 23rd of January when the the lockdown expires? You can’t do it at a private career college. Most FTUs are not private career colleges. If you find one of those, and they figure they’r...

Re: Flight training still open during Ontario province-wide lockdown?
Which is what they explicitly permitted to do, as a Private Career College, under the Ontario emergency regulations - that, and only that. So if I wanted to take training for the recreational permit right now under the lockdown I couldn’t do it until the 23rd of January when the the lockdown expires?

Re: Flight training still open during Ontario province-wide lockdown?
Hello, I’m just curious if it’s legal to still attend my flight training. I was told the training can still carry on. The restrictions does exempt post secondary education that has to be in person. I feel it’s a little uneasy about this. Is this still allowed? Or is it just some word play by the FT...

Re: Flight training still open during Ontario province-wide lockdown?
It's the business that has to obey the regulations, not the customer. It's legal for you to attend anything they offer. How do you conduct discovery or introductory flights side by side ( within 2 m) ? During the lockdown can we still conduct these types of training flights in Ontario? Are they ess...

Re: General C Yeager RIP
One of the finest aviators if not the best that ever lived. " I was always afraid of dying. Always. It was my fear that made me learn everything I could about my airplane and my emergency equipment and kept me flying respectful of my machine and always alert in a cockpit." I carry this quote of his ...

Re: Flight Training vs Discovery Flights (Covid 19)
The big difference between a discovery flight and flight training is that most people who take discovery flights do not continue to go on to flight training. Most flight instructors are limiting themselves to a rather finite number of students, to reduce their social interactions and therefore the ...

Flight Training vs Discovery Flights (Covid 19)
I've been looking through various websites of some of the flight schools ranging from Ontario to the West and I have been seeing that some of these schools not all of them have cancelled Discovery and sightseeing flights due to the Covid 19 virus. But they are continuing with regular career oriented...

We are adjusting our operations as required with regards to public health guidelines and will continue to do so (orang...

Re: Flight training and Covid 19
This would highly depend on where an FTU is located, and the restrictions in place there. You'll need to be more specific. I can at least tell you that Brampton has suspended all discovery flights, and training of non-career students. Thanks for the reply, I guess in Ontario where right now there i...

I see some schools have suspended discovery flights while others have not. Some schools are not taking on new students until the career path students finish. Other sc...
