Re: any news on the next CMSC?

Correct, yes that is the plan. By Q1 2025 AC's hiring rate will decrease significantly to a nominal rate. It’s been so long. What is a normal rate again? For people outside AC, 703, 704, 705.. It will be nice to work with folks who don’t have such an urgent passion to quit their job. Looking forwar...

Re: Yr 1 FO $130k

Boys and gals get ready. Good things are coming. In a recent board meeting it was unanimously decided that the management understands how pathetic the WAWCON are at AC and are willing to take it to the next level. They want AC to be competitive and want to invest in the pilots. Expect $130k year 1 ...

Re: Timing the cycle

I think the biggest issue here that pilots are forgetting is that regardless of the fact you've missed 10-15 years of income "gains" because of the market, everyone else is in the same boat. Inflation has killed everyone. Every industry. Ask doctors.... same disparity in Canada vs US. It's no diffe...

Darn, and when my class arrives, it's only going to be 2 spots in YVR and only Qs Ahh that 700 hours and 172 time really sets you up for the jet doesn't it. Trashy Q is the equivalent of the Cessna 150 and definitely beneath any pilot.🙄 480 4eng multi turbine CRM in an aircraft you'll never be able...

Stay far far away.

Re: Negotiations

This MOS was just enough to keep the ball rolling with subpar wages. And that’s everything they wanted. They’ll be happy to keep these rates for a very long time. Why would they change it? Jazz pilots spoke. They’re okay with it.

Re: Negotiations

Truedude, You’ve said many times over the last while that you see the decision makers at AC as incompetent, oblivious, playing an outdated game. That you’d be happy to let it burn. That there is a line they have which will force them into reality, requiring market rates for pilots. You’ve seemed to ...

Any new pilots be warned. Keith is an embarrassment to the profession. DO NOT pay him for career advice. He’s trying to monetize what almost every pilot before him does for free. This boy needs a reality/ego check.

Maybe ALPA can get him a gift to smoothen things over. It’s not sociopathic to joke about stupid decisions that lead to death. Have you ...

Re: New immigration program to fill in-demand jobs. Pilots made the list.

Let's think about this for a moment. Who would apply for this? On the one hand low time pilots who can't find a job in their home country. They will likely arrive here with 500 hours or less. There is no shortage of 500 hour pilots here, but it also won't affect candidates at the airlines. It's the...

To those who don't think 23.5% raise over 4 years is enough, that scope protection and dismantling of swoop is not enough, integrating sunwing under one employer. Countless life style improvements. I suggest you do your self and the rest of us a favor and leave Westjet and Canadian Aviation, you ar...

Jazz is 2 companies. Pre 2015, with DB pension and other benefits. And post 2015, which is set up or was set up to send pilots to ac and motivate to leave with poor pay and reduced benefits compared to their senior colleagues. Aside from the pension there isn’t much difference in benefits from pre/...

Any clue about their experience level? 1500-2000 hour Instructor to 705 skipper would be scary quite frankly. Same with newish 703-704 Captains. Training standard won’t change for them so we’ll see how it pans out I guess

Yup! A couple YVR Easter eggs..

Bring your RAIC to Capilano Suspension Bridge and it’s free.

Also, Whistler ski tickets are discounted with a RAIC. Forget how much but it was 10-20% if I remember correctly.

Sounds a lot like avcanada. From my own perspective (not working in commercial aviation, but coming in contact with a lot of the people you describe), I get the impression that the complainers get stuck in their position, while the competent/reasonable/nice people move up to the airlines and corpor...

As with so many things that the left fantasize about...the devil is in the details. Look south of the 49th to see where it is all going. The Blue states are being abandoned by conservative thinkers. This is real and shows up on census to the point where Blue states are losing seats in the house due...

You're all saying the same thing.

The most junior ACTIVE Sky Pilot's DOH was December 2017. There were 104 Jazz pilots on CEWS who were more senior than that pilot, so they were recalled.

Gino do we receive training to deescalate face-to-face with passengers? No.

The FA’s do though.

Any Captain these days knows this and respects that. The moment you hop out your seat and play peace officer (which you have no training for) you completely undermine your back-end crew.

We clearly disagree on what playing it well and being a winner means.
