Re: Catsa, what a joke!
I had the joy of flying out of the big center of Deer Lake recently. Seems I was randomly picked for exibit "A" as I watched my flight take off in front of my poor little eyes. The nice security worker spent about 10 minutes patting down my collar & pant legs. I told him... "Why don't we just throw ...

Add the word Turbine & add the price of a small house to the final price tag. R-985's ? I wonder if we still have the technology to make more?

Re: New Twin Otter set to fly
As far as C-FDHT goes, it is indeed s/n: 434. The registration may be the same as another previous twin otter registration. If the other aircraft fell through the ice then i'd say the letters are up for grabs. I am tired of people saying it's a copy of...KBA, etc. There are a lot of wonderful people...

Re: Troubles with Homeland Security
I once heard that America was/is built & thrives on "Paranoia". Surely though of the millions of dollars spent it must help the security of its citizens?!?! They would not spend that kind of cash & get nothing.

Air Canada/Jazz Missed Approach in Kelowna
Anybody hear about the missed approach in Kelowna recently. Passengers reported on Global TV that the flight aborted landing at the very last minute & returned to Vancouver. The passengers reported that snow clearing equipment was on the active runway at time of attempted landing. Reporters asked th...

DHC-3 Otter vs. C-208 Caravan
Little friendly competition between a deHavilland Otter & a Cessna Caravan. I wonder if an instant replay is required?

Just heard this on the news this evening. Martin Mars going to California to help out with the disaster going on there. Too bad they didn't go before now.

A380 - Airbus
I saw something brief on Global News this morning about an Airbus A380 having a little oopsy & hangar rash on a wing tip. Anyone else hear anything further on this?

Well if you tried to contact the Glenn L. Martin Company for spare parts you might find yourself out of luck. I am also pretty sure Aviall does not carry a whole lot either. There are many rules & regulations in place within (CAR's) that allow for "Repair" & replacement "As per Sample". As long as t...

I was on a Air Canada A320 out of Toronto a few years ago. During a thunderstorm which made it that much nicer. They had to scrounge up one last essential crew member to even conduct the flight. After we all piled on, shut the door & taxied out, the capt. came on & said "We are # 23 for take off, we...

I wonder just how many pilots are ready on stand by & checked out to fly these two Mars? I can't imagine you would find a 'Mars' pilot in any corner of the country. That being said, I wonder what & how much training it takes to get familerized in this aircraft. Imagine stepping out of a C-172 & hopp...

Maybe it can load its water tanks up with Avgas & fly around the world on one tank!
Seriously though, that aircraft will wipe out a small airport of all its 100LL.
Should be a good contract for them if they do it. I bet the value will be mega bucks.

deHavilland never put any data plates/serial #'s on the door frame. The "Official" data plate is indeed on the lower control column sock. I understand that DHC actually did not apply such data plate on a number of initial Beavers. The US military had their own scheme for issuing s/n's on the L-20 ai...

Juice is not worth the sqeeze... For the big $79 bucks or less!, just go to Aviall or API. The certified/tested & tagged hose will be in your hands in about 3 or 4 days minus a bunch of headaches, busted knuckles & nearly as much cash anyway when it is all said & done. Acquire materials, configure/c...
