Re: Would you do it if you could start over?

Absofriggenlutely. I barely graduated from high school (lazy and bored, didn't apply myself) and I currently make 6 figures while working only a handful of days each month. Best decision I ever made!

Re: Marijuana Poll

One thing for sure it gives a whole new meaning to " Professionalism " Keep in mind folks, we have no idea who is voting in this poll. For all we know, the majority of those saying it's ok may not even be pilots, let alone commercial pilots. I suspect the waters are being muddied by those who don't...

Re: Lesser Of Two Evils

Judging from some of the posts here, it would seem that anyone opposed to random screening is a pot smoking hippie. Random drug screening is an infringement on my rights and freedoms, period. Same could be said for alcohol screening (in my opinion) but I supposed there's wiggle room on that one give...

Just how far right are you anyway? An equally good question is just how far left are you? I've been following this thread, along with all of your other "I hate Harper" threads. Honestly, all I hear from you is "blah blah blah...Harper sucks...blah blah blah....Harper is anti-democratic....blah blah...

Re: Pilot locked in bathroom causes terror scare

The F/A was in the cockpit, waiting for the now pee-deficient crew member to return so he/she could open the door to let him/her back onto the flight deck.

Sorry for ruining it for those who feel an ATPL should come with a secret decoder ring.

its my tax money/insurance rates paying for those who don't. I've never understood this argument. Pro helmet folks will tell you that if you don't wear one, you're sure to die in even a minor slow speed accident. If you do wear one, you're likely to live but will almost certainly be injured. Now co...

Externals are serious business..,please PLEASE don't rely on the replies you get here before attempting this. Absolutely, and that's certainly not a surprise. I really doubt that support will be there 3-5 years from now when the team is still floundering and the honeymoon is over. I could be wrong, in fact I hope I am. For sure though, there's certainly better places to put a team in this country. To the po...

Re: The Mannipeg Joose.

I'm happy as hell to have another Canadian team, but I just don't see how this can work. The city is a stink hole and players are not going to want to live there. The only hope management has of acquiring players is through the draft or through trades. Free agency will work against this club...good ...

I get that....I'm not posting here as a high brow elitist. I understand that things can happen to any of us. I was expecting something of substance to be in this report..something more than just a poorly flown approach...and it's NOT there. I will not fly my airplane off a 10000 foot runway under th...

Re: Pilot charged in Norman Wells death

Agreed. While the more seasoned pilots I worked with rarely performed such stunts, they didn't speak out against them either. That was my point in my previous posts in this thread. Education and enforcement will change the way buzz jobs are perceived, the same way impaired driving is no longer socia...

So, basically, you used to be a moron, and you have seen the folly of your ways. Should we bow down to your infantile wisdom? I suppose you could put it that way. Call me names all you like, it doesn't change the fact that buzzing is an accepted practice (see the post right below yours) and in some...

the very reason I don't post here anymore Sorry to burst that ego of yours, but the fact that you don't post here anymore is a HUGE plus to this forum. Just sayin'.... This pilot flew low enough to hit someone in the head with the wing of his aircraft. This goes beyond bad judgment, and not because...

Air Command Weather Manual. I used it to prep for the INRAT years ago and found it the best of what was available at the time, and I aced the exam. Bought it at Aviation World near YYZ.

just a note, fuel quantity indicators can be deffered on a C208 as per transport canada MMEL supplement dated sept 15,2003, Page 28-1. but 1 out of 2 has to be working. balance must be verified prior to each flight. You used to be able to defer the gauge, but not anymore. The MMEL was changed on Re...

Re: CARS - download them

An alternative would be to have a computer with a link to the CARs bookmarked and accessible by all who need it. It's free and TC takes care of making sure the info is current, and they accept that as being part of your required library. The search function available when using CDs might make the $5...

Re: Fress Press story - Thursday Sept 3 2009

A rad alt is required for SPIFR, not sure if Fast Air flew single or two crew though. Faulty fuel gauges cannot be deferred on some aircraft, such as the C208 - no way to know if you're within the 200 pound imbalance limit without gauges - again, not sure if Fast Air flew Caravans or if this was an ...
