Re: Strike vote
Does anyone know from a legal perspective why the rail workers haven't filed for an emergency injunction yet? Seems pretty slam dunk that the Ministers orders were illegal and violated the charter of Rights. Further the CIRB didn't really make a ruling other than to say that a court needed to decide...

Re: day surgery for a skin cancer and medical cat 1
File a WSIB claim as cosmic radiation is now considered an exposure related risk for pilots by WSIB. They recognize the studies and statistics that show pilots at a significant risk to skin cancers compared to the general population. You probably won't get any money from it but atleast it'll be atta...

Re: Flying after a knee surgery
I tore the MCL and ACL in my left knee a few years back. Took me 2 months after the injury to get back in the cockpit then I went for the surgery about a month and a half later. Recovery after the surgery was about another 2 months. The key to regaining your ability to fly again is building stabilit...

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Hello, Thank you for your recent application to the position of Pilot at Air Canada. Our hiring board has determined that you did not successfully pass our interview and as such, we will be contacting you to schedule a second interview (with the possibility of a secondary psychological evaluation a...

Re: CAMEs ‘Fit to Fly’ Standards for post surgery recovery after significant injury?
I had ACL reconstruction after suffering full grades tears of the ACL and MCL ligaments from a cross country riding incident. From what I found most regular doctors don't want to touch the liability issue with a 90 foot pole so they are more than happy to give you a sick note for however long I need...

Re: Retirees Lose Decision re C2 and B1 Passes
I'd like to start a petition that all pilots get B2s for regular passes so we're not fighting against an FA that was hired at 20 for priority. Most pilots are hired in their 30s or later and for someone the same age as us they might have 10-15+ of pass seniority! How is that fair.... Add the redicu...

Except get a Masters degree in Economics but I guess we won't talk about that.

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share
I agree with your summary Altpiano. While AC is off the hook to buy after Feb 15th, Air Transat is off the hook to sell. So they could entertain other offers. It's unlikely they would receive a better one, but that is one reason I could think of AC agreeing to extend the deadline. Right. That's the...

Re: Cargo TA
Anyway it’s all contingent on the EU approval. I’m sure our former Prez will be trying to block it for the benefit of AF. EU will approve the deal as AC just submitted concessions to make it happen. At the end EU will never prevent a transaction between 2 Canadian companies. As AT shareholders will...

Re: How much do people rent Mooneys for?
The Edmonton Flying club used to rent a M20J. It was awhile ago though. They were operating out of YXD at the time. I can't remember the hourly cost. I do remember it was restricted to rental to people with a CPL or higher for insurance reasons. Really nice flying plane.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
[/quote] That would be terrific! AC could spool up their very successful Rouge operation again in response to increased demand, thus foregoing the additional expense of integrating a struggling leisure only carrier. This would be a benefit for all parties, AC employees would enjoy greater job securi...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
Just as a correction 727, Transat never solicited a bid for a take over by AC. It's actually quite the opposite. Air Canada came to Transat in October 2018 looking to take over Transat as a strategic move. This information came from JME during a company webcast. Please provide your source that Trans...
