Re: Coulson C-130 missing NSW

Daniel the crew was all American. That said, Canadian pilots could potentially work in the US division of the company, with proper legal paperwork. They are one and the same for all intents and purposes. Very, very sad day indeed. Off topic but I had a friend apply for their 737 operation in Port A...

Coulson C-130 missing NSW

"... in a statement, the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) said "contact had been lost with a Large Air Tanker which was working in the Snowy Monaro area". "Local ground crews indicate the aircraft may have crashed," the statement said. "A number of helicopters are in the area carrying out a search. "No ...

LOL

Well considering it's been 21 years since the initial procedure, I am pretty confident ;) :D

But, as with anything, who really knows, I guess? 8)

Re: Netjets getting even better.

Though Netjets may appear to have a healthy remuneration plan, the upgrade times are lengthy and the crews wait on hot standby at the FBO. Lots of unhappy folks, though I am sure there are some happy ones in the left seats. Perspective, I think. FWIW the company I just started with down here dings m...

Re: Laser Eye Surgery

I responded to several of the previous threads.

No complaints.

Did it initially in 1998 with a touchup in 2005. Had pretty crappy nearsightedness with astigmatism to boot.

I *might* need glasses now, but it's due to age, not a failure of the procedure.

Lots of curiosity, care and concern! Although surprised that people have so much to say about my little project, I am honoured that folks would take the time to contribute with such thoughtful consideration and detail. Honestly, I am grateful. Thank you Cat Driver / . . for the kind remarks. You ca...

Re: Does Anyone Have a Dog?

Please PLEASE do not get a dog until you can seriously commit to one. Dog are pack animals, and often do not do well without their pack. Dogs need socialization, both with humans and other dogs. Even a cat is a commitment. I waited many, many years until I knew that I could honor that commitment. I ...

Canadian North - new hires?

Howdy all -

Wondering if anyone has interviewed for the MMRO and has heard anything back yet?

I know of an applicant that is cautiously optimistic but no word. Was told mid-January.

Thanks :)

Re: California Man Sentenced to Prison for Piloting Private Jets without a Type Rating

I believe incidents happen more often than not.

Used to work with a guy that was nabbed by the FAA after landing because he had not renewed his medical. How long he had no medical, I don't know.

For the record, Women in Aviation International encourages men to apply for scholarships, unless the entity providing the scholarship indicates otherwise (same goes with country of citizenship):

Re: TC really cracking down these days...

Rookie, it has been like that as far back as I can remember. And I started flying in 1953. What makes me laugh is the superiority complex Canadians have over Americans. This high and mighty we are morally superior attitude. Get over yourselves. Canadians -- so called "morally superior" -- losers. T...

Just to add to the comments, the night spraying alleviates interactions (usually negative) with field workers.

My ex employer runs an operation in Yuma, AZ. 95% of the spraying is night.

Re: GPS Jamming Exercise

Jamming affects my Phenom 300 to the point that it knocks off our autopilot and yaw damper. Procedure is to slow to mach .63 (or less) and descend.

Personally got hit with it once in the US. We now make every attempt to avoid the areas affected, if possible.
