Re: What questions to ask and be cautious of when buying an aircraft?
Well, the pictures show it tied down in a hangar at least... That’s right. My first instinct to sell my well-kept always-hangared airplane, is to, uh, move it out into the snow, for the, uh, exposure. :-O How about a little more info... the aircraft is said to have been moved from one small airport...

Re: What questions to ask and be cautious of when buying an aircraft?
It all depends on what they are asking for it. 500 hours SMOH in 6 years is pretty good, seems to suggest it got flown regularly. What type of engine? There is a whole topic about upcoming mandatory ELT upgrades, so you'll probably have to do that soon. Not too much of a major expense, roughly 1000...

Re: What questions to ask and be cautious of when buying an aircraft?
Alright guys, well, thank you so much for your help, advice and opinions... not easy to make your own when you get so many but at least that gives me some material to work from and with. I couldn't hope for better help. I got more info about the aircraft and I even got pictures and videos. So the ai...

What questions to ask and be cautious of when buying an aircraft?
Hi Everyone. Not sure where I should post this but I assume you guys can answer my questions anyway... As I already explained here, I'm looking to buy my own aircraft to do my private licence and I have found a 1967 C172 I'm interested in. It has 496.4 TSMOH and 2591 TTSN. Being a newbie, my aviatio...

Re: P-STAR exam
Hi Civic I was recently directed to that website: comeflywithme.ca... there's a whole bunch of links for online resources that might help you. Just for curiosity, I tried the nizus.com online quizzes and hangaaar app and they are both very well done. It's amazing all the tools you can work with now ...

Re: Flight Training On Vancouver Island?
IS it? What's the usual rate? What are your expectations? To get paid for flight training? Just curious. Well to start with, I'd like to get my PPL. So far, I've done a couple of flights with a pilot friend of mine and I really enjoyed it. He has done his PPL on his own aircraft and he says he woul...

Re: Flight Training On Vancouver Island?
Thanks futurebushpilot. Someone here gave me some info about a freelance here in Victoria. I checked his website comeflywithme.ca and there's a lot of information. Based on the website the guy seems to have experience and sounds like a nice fellow I would get along with. I think he's full-time freel...

Which Aircraft For PPL and CPL Training?
Hi everyone. I have recently made the decision to start my PPL and probably go commercial later. My plan is to have my own aircraft and do my PPL and CPl and maybe just keep the airplane if I'm happy with it. I have a few questions for you guys as you probably know a lot more than I do. 1. Which air...

Re: Flight Training On Vancouver Island?
Well, when I talked to them I mentioned that I would probably want to do the training on my own aircraft but they didn't seem crazy about that idea.
The solution might be a freelance instructor...

Re: Flight Training On Vancouver Island?
Yes, I did check them out but they're in Campbell River... too far for my old car and that would screw my finance for sure. I'm surprised an airport like Victoria doesn't have more flight schools... Anyone knows why?

Flight Training On Vancouver Island?
Hi everyone. I'm new to that forum so I hope i'm posting at the right place. I moved recently to Vancouver Island, BC and I am planning on starting a PPL as soon as possible, then maybe go commercial if all goes well. I looked at the schools rates online and after doing my math I found out that it m...
