Re: Hard landing
Hard landing or side loaded? Details still very sketchy coming out of Vietnam. Probably will never get the whole story but wonder if there is an overseas version of cador or public accident reports

Re: Morningstar caravan 208
The reality is they probably have 500 resumes to weed there way through. Yup the pay isn’t the greatest but I think they’re not worked to hard. Lots of unemployed drivers out there would give body organs for that gig

Recover a B18 why in gods name would you do that? Dive down recover the floats if she was a water corker and leave the poor beasty on the bottom. The second engine takes you straight to the accident and the floats are worth more than the plane

Re: Blue Water Aviation plane down North of Winnipeg
So. Someone has said our the fleet of otters, I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend are grounded Please park the BS at the door. Before the arm chair bandits start condemning the plane and the pilot. I highly suggest you wait for a TSB report.

Re: Westjet cabin incident, good thing it wasn't United or AC
The captain was most professional, the passenger although a senior, definitely had a bit of a rant she wanted cleared up. However the flight attendant seems to be the complete ass hat in this situation. I am curious how this will play out, west jet will most likely hire a professional spin doctor fo...

Re: Vietnam 208 job
Not a lot of vans on floats. So the gene pool is limited. As they only want qualified ifr rated van, float pilots your really dealing with a limited gene pool. Lots of van jobs On wheels in North America. But then your lacking one of there strict limitations. They want you pre trained as it looks li...

Good on you. I spent several years in both Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. Yes the countryside is stunning. But like I said the towns do stink. the Mekong on a hot humid day brings back the memory of smells I would like to forget. Your going to tell me that all those tuk Tuks and two strokes don't put a...

Re: Vietnam 208 job
if you can't fly a van, then don't bother. I've had several high time otter drivers apply all getting a PFO. Looks like the pool of van drivers is drying up as there posting weekly now. Also looks like guys are doing there 12 month commitment and saying adieu. Yes Vietnam is nice. You live in 100% h...

Re: Toronto to Niagara in 15 minutes
I believe this venture has been tried before out of St. Catharines. I think it's a sound concept. however when the plane goes back and forth a few times empty, folks will start looking at the bottom line. The joys of scheduled service. Weather calls should be very simple. It's the PIC call but be pr...

About 18 years ago I used to drop a sleeve of snuff for an old native trapper every two weeks. I made sure the sleeve was well taped and added orange flagging. After doing this for months on end I was getting pretty good at it till he took a sleeve of Copenhagen straight to the pumpkin. Knocked him ...

I think some of us went to the same school, I use lemon pledge, gives me a nice lemon smell until the first tub of fish gets loaded in, and I swap out my window cleaning rag at every hotel, I prefer Nova or Arctic lodge. Been pledging the windows for 16 years nary a scratch and a heck of a lot cheap...
