Watching a show on Sable Island and now it's on my bucket list of Canadian locations I would like to fly to.
Has anyone flown private aircraft there and is it allowed? Looks like they land on beaches.

Installing seat belts on pre-78 SE aircraft
I'm considering buying a small aircraft built before the requirement for shoulder belts. This particular aircraft has a single seatbelt for the rear passengers. In the USA in this particular aircraft (Maule M5) people are installing Hooker 4 point inertia belts on the front seats, and 2 fixed(non in...

Its been a few years now but I have worked for a really good company that had hardwired Irridium systems. I have also worked for company in Yellowknife that gave us portable Globalstars.. We were informed by our all-knowing CP that they worked great and we should not complain. Unfortunately they wer...

I remember a report a few days ago that the plane left with 8 hours of fuel. Do a scan on Google Earth, and come up with Iran.

A possible theory is the plane is parked in a military hanger in Iran.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of the activity at the Starfield Resources/Ferguson Lake property that is planned for this summer. I'm hoping the financial troubles wont hurt the flying up there.

American license.
I want to ferrry an aircraft that is registered American into Canada. Do I need to get an US licence, and if I do, how do I get one? Any help would be great! I've been told that to import a US registered machine into Canada it has to be flown by a US pilot, and once in Canada, it has to be flown by ...

Re: Crash @ North Spirit Lake Ont (5 dead)
It appears to me that all the young little pilots must have heard that a pilot in Manitoba got fired last week for returning due to icing and U/S prop deice in a Cessna Caravan. Is this a proper time to slag criminal operators? YESSS!!! I would also like to slag gutless pilots that would go out with...

This topic has probably been hashed over lots, but I haven't seen anything.. Is it possible to fly to Russia via Alaska by small private aircraft? I know they have lots of piston aircraft (AN-2 and such). If anyone has done this it would really really good to hear about the journey.. How about heari...

There is a good reason reality shows focus on individuals with Borderline Personality Disorders. If they made a show about safe, sane, efficient aviation companies, all the viewers would be asleep by the first commercial break. Ag-flying included!!

Garmin aera 500 GPS
I was hoping any folks out there that have bought this unit could give an opinion on how they like it. A few questions I have...1) does it have an external antenna? 2) How is the internal battery length of use, before recharging. 3)How easy is it to use? 4) Is the map as good as the Garmin 396, in r...

With the consultation and blessing of Canadian Forces, the Buffallo for SAR. Politically, it makes great sense. No, Ive seen that AWT wing, and it looks kind of scarey to me. I've also seen one of the original Baron winged Beaver's do a "Demo Take-off" at Watson Lake. It scared the crap out of all of us who were watching. That could have very well been caused by Bigshotism and Incompitence, which was inherint...

I'm hoping someone here could share any information on the Wipline wing modifications on the Beaver. It looks like it might be the same concept as the Otter/Turbo Beaver wing, with fences. Does anyone in Canada have this mod?

Pa-20's and O-290 engines
This is one for the oldtimers... Ive been reading up on the Pa-20, and considering the cost in relation to the Pa-18, it looks like a better alternative. I have time only on the Pa-18, so I would appreciate opinions on the comparisons of the two machines. I would be using it for some cross-country, ...
