Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

2000 hours won't be competitive OTS. I'd suggest you are at least a few years away from building enough time/experience to be competitive. The deal with Jazz restricts the number OTS they can take. 705 CA with that low time is pretty sweet though... If you could move to Jazz as DEC, or fast upgrade...

Indeed. Transat is more resilient than we think. Better days to come.

What experience and total time is he at? Just curious.
I know 2 TRZ FOs that got an email. 1000h+ WB FO, and both 500h+ multi PIC. Between 4-5000h TT each.

incorrect, they need to accept 90% of the those applicants from Jazz in that pool
What’s the difference?
So they should hire up to 70% of new hire slots from jazz with a 10% overall turndown rate
I see. I though it was 60% annual rate from jazz.

Re: Transat AT seeking additional government funding after reporting $114.3M Q1 loss

Yep, if there is one thing for certain it’s that Transat finally has AC right where they want them. Annik was just pleading for government money to keep the lights on in order to lull big red into a false sense of security. So true. SWG and TRZ both have serious cash flow problems. SWG did a deal t...

Re: Transat AT seeking additional government funding after reporting $114.3M Q1 loss

Yes. They could also issue a ton of shares if the price goes up after a good season. That would dilute shareholders but could improve their debt/equity ratio. Once that ratio comes down, whether it’s by any option you mentioned, TRZ will probably be bought out by either WJ or AC, will just be a mat...

Re: Transat AT seeking additional government funding after reporting $114.3M Q1 loss

I don't know if an AA/TWA style hostile takeover is in the cards. Market cap is only $172M at $4.60, but not sure how many available shares there are, and a competitor would also have to sway LB to relinquish their holding. That being said, if a competitor felt TRZ's market share was worth it, they...

Re: Transat revenues drop by 99%, with 2,000 layoffs expected

Does anyone know if Transat’s losses could be carried forward to AC for tax purposes going forward? If so it might be worth more than the purchase price for that alone. AC will have plenty of losses of it's own. It needs to stop the bleeding of cash, real soon. Yup. Not a good time to buy another b...

Every company will shrink for a while. AC’s ex ceo CR said in an interview yesterday leisure travel and visiting family and friends will rebound strong and the demand huge. Yeah, that’s definitely what he’s said....... “I think that you’re going to see, after this pandemic is adequately out of the ...

Re: Transat revenues drop by 99%, with 2,000 layoffs expected

Won’t happen. Govnmt won’t let TS die anyway, better this way for everybody. Merger would’ve been a total mess for everyone. Don't be so sure about that. It let Bombardier die...$1 for C-Series. TS can be easily laid to rest in a Covid environment. Nah, the premier of Quebec publicly said he has no...

I guess no deal then. Yup. That deal is dead 95% sure, matter of time before an announcement is made to the public . The only thing that can save it is if the EU allows it without any restrictions and Canada backs off on some of the insane conditions that it imposed on AC. Won’t happen. Govnmt won’...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Air Canada was sitting just over 8B at the end of December in unrestricted liquidity. And how much current liabilities? Plus take into account TRZ’s liabilities. I’m a TS pilot, looking at things logically. I don’t think now is the time for a merger. Now is the time for a fuc**n industry bailout. T...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Indeed, it is heavily laden with political influence. With the conditions placed on the AC buyout of AT now public, I think that there will be NO other suitors for AT besides the Videotron guy. If one was hoping that ONEX will swoop in and save AT after AC walks, I think that is highly unlikely. ON...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Right. That's the only advantage to AC to agree to extend, but I don't believe there are any other viable or realistic suitors at this point that AC is worried about. The Transat board already dismissed another offer that could have been superior depending on where the AC stock goes. I bet they're ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Ok so the liberals will approve it because AC really wants it? AC really wants government aid too but the government has dragged its feet even with a political angle(protecting jobs vs the trade off of the public hates the airlines). So what is the government's motivation to approve? Remember the g...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

What AC wants is irrelevant to approval. Like I said the federal liberal government needs a political angle to approve it against the competition report. There has not been a single one put forward to that end. So again why would the liberals approve it? And yes many joke on here about the integrat...
