Yes you can. People live as far away as YYT/YDF and make it work. I live in YHZ. The commute is hard, but you get used to it. Some people at WJ simply don't like the commuters, but most do. Most crew schedulers like having people all over the country, and I have been called at home in HZ to fly out ...

I do the HZ commute/port. Last winter was pretty good for the most part, but the summer wasn't as good. I've heard that this winter should at least as good as last winter, possibly better.

good luck

Close to airport, on bus routes weekdays, or $17.00 cab ride. Clean quiet place available. Shared with other W/J pilots. NOT A PARTY HOUSE!!!!!

Full time $600.00 Pilots on course $350.00

My 2 cents worth

I'm heading off to Westjet. I'm commuting, and not doing anything based on the idea of a HZ port. I plan on commuting to and from YYC, which at times will be difficult. I simply cannot afford to live in YYC. Bascialy what I'm saying is don't go to WestJet planning for a HZ port. That being said..ano...

OOPS... How about I attach the picture!!!

There is a pic of a Canso that dug a wingtip in 02 at Sitidgi Lake. It looks like an X Newfie gov't machine, but I can't pick out the registration. Anyone know the registration, and if she's still flying? I flew them back in the 70's and still have a fondness for the old birds. Thanks http://www.avc...

Interview with Mr Rowe

ATV will air an interview with Mr Rowe tonight, shortly after 6pm. I don't expect a whole lot more than we already know, but it might be interesting.

Contract talks

For what my opinion is worth, after the MEC is official, talks won't get started for about 6 to 8 months, and about 2 years for the first contract, but I could be wrong ( I hope ). We have a great bunch of pilots, lets hope most are willing to stick it out.

Fly safe.

Sorry, you cannot be based in YUL. The only base is YHZ. If there ever were another base, my guess is YYZ, based on the amount of flying we do out of there.

Good luck in what ever decision you make.

Simple facts..... I signed an ALPA card before most other pilots here... My world isn't pink coloured...it's realistic coloured... It's not about what ALPA will keep, ( we won't lose anything ), it's about can ALPA get a contract with a $10000 raise over 3 years.... I think ALPA may help us attract ...

Canjet info

Simple facts.... There is a training contract ( unfortunately ) Most upgrades come from the F/O's ( 5 DE's I think ) Underpaid..yes, but in the last 36 months two $5000.00 pay increases ( we'll have to see if ALPA can do that in 36 months ) 13 days off decent overtime deal good equipment working con...
