You also have to look at the fact that the ATR is also an option. It's not all Basler and Pilatus there.

OP can PM me if he wants more info on that side of things.

Re: Smoking in aircraft

There was a certain Global Express I worked on that had a very distinctive smell of tipped cigars onboard (Like Colts or Swisher Sweets).

So yeah, if you can afford to own an expensive toy like that, you can smoke on it.

Can confirm this. I contracted at Bombardier and the time nor the work counts for your AME logbook because of exactly what DH82EH said. Unless you get into the Pre-flight Bay... those aircraft have registrations and CofA so if you are doing RNC rectification on Preflight Aircraft you can get that co...

North Star Air.

Worth a shot. They have PC-12 and Baslers running out of Pickle and Red Lake. Elsewhere too.

Maybe someone could ask Lester Powell in Goose Bay. I recall someone telling me his rediculous total time on the Twotter and I believe it was way over the 20k mark.
This is what I was thinking. Lester, Benny Powell or Romaine Butler all have an absolute gob of time on the Twotter.

Re: Who's pooping on people?

While conducting a post flight walkaround on a Global Express I noticed one panel had what looked like mud streaking around it. Didn't touch it obviously but as I don't have the GLEX type course, I conferred with the lead AME... yup... it was poop as I suspected. Glad I wasn't assigned that snag. haha

Re: King Air Pilots Should Look at Their Fuel Caps Before Takeoff

I had my VHF on and heard this incident go down live. They waited awhile to declare an emergency which wasn't until they were a few minutes away from touchdown. Whomever was working the radio had mentioned a fuel leak, then later when it became a fuel imbalance they called in the emergency. I don't ...

I can write in cursive and read it... however there is pretty much nowhere it's ever needed. Because of that, my cursive looks essentially the same as it did when I learned it back in elementary school. All my maintenance releases are either typed on a sticky or written in regular printing. It's goi...

Re: Stickies aren’t going to get you employees.

Maybe someone who is an AME could let us know what their average salary might be in the initial stages after getting their licenses On the helicopter side, an apprentice right out of school will make around $17/hour. Moving up to about $24/hour in 2 years when licensed. I'm a C-hair from getting my...

Citizen Ecodrive Nighthawk. It's got an E6B bezel so it's somewhat pilot-y.

I only recently got to do a little maintenance on one at work.

Apparently all you need to reinstall the interior is a flathead screwdriver and some profanity. Haven't done any engine work on it yet but the rest has been more enjoyable than some of it's smaller Western cousins.

Re: Hunters Blundering onto Air Fields

In the spirit of "What's right, not who's right", I'm with the idea of putting up some signs (assuming there aren't some already). The vast, vast majority of firearms owners and hunters are very safety conscious and mindful of regulations. If they are informed that an area is a no-go zone they will...

Launch Swoop at the same time AC floods the projected Jetlines routes... Squash Jetlines. Fold up Swoop?

I wondered when the big two would tip their hands on their plan to take-out Jetlines before they get a foothold.

Re: Ontario To NFLD

Skip Sydney for fuel and grab it in Port Hawkesbury (CYPD). 100LL was $1.70+tax last I checked there. No landing fees there as opposed to YQY too. YPD is under new management now and they charge a $25 landing fee. It can also get a little busy there with private jet traffic from the states. They ha...
