Re: EB2 NIW Visa
It makes perfect sense. Airline unions in the states are powerful. They don't want foreigners joining and reducing their wages. Meanwhile in Canada, our companies and government actually helps bring them in to fill pilot positions. Positions that go unfilled because the wages and working conditions...

Holy crap. The private sector could probably do the same job for $3.6m.

Fair enough. As long as you have an exit plan to the Middle-East or Asia, or hopefully the States than carry on.

If true, the separate AOCs as a huge red flag. They will use the two companies to whipsaw you. These posts about how the company and the CEO are your best friends are really cringeworthy. Get scope locked down as soon as you possibly can.

Pilots learn they have a direct line to their CEO. Proceed to butt kiss instead of voicing concerns.

I don't think it's racist if they are literally from Bollywood. But it brings up a good point, if you are going to move to another society you are likely to experience some racism as part of that experience. You need to factor in all the pros and cons.

Pilots are mission oriented. If they can't get to their destination the next best thing is back to origin. We see this time and again with helicopters falling out of the sky instead of conducting an off field landing and just getting on the ground.

On top of the poor wages in Canada it's also very hard to find somewhere to live. I can't recommend leaving your current position and country to come here.

There's probably more than you think. They're already complaining that it might be technically possible for a DC member to have a higher pension than a DB one. They don't care what you make as long as it's not more than them.

So either the sarcasm wasn’t obvious to the above poster. Or they’re deliberately attempting to make it look like I meant that. I won’t fault you if it was over your head but if it’s the latter, that’s pretty pathetic. I won’t quote the poster. If you did what you did in error, this is your opportu...

It always amazes me how intelligent some pilots are. It's so frustrating that these people are treated with less respect by their employer than a tradesmen that didn't finish high school.

Why does it seem like Air Canada literally abhors their pilots? An airline who has the cheapest labour of any North American major. While I don't wish the temporary belt-tightening on you folks, I honestly hope you strike, because it sounds like management still feels like they can keep laughing wh...
