In my course of 20 we had people from age 23 to 44. Mostly guys in their 30's though.

I interviewed mid June and had my medical last week of July. I got the pool email last week in August.

I think hiring needs is determined every 2 months when a bid comes out. I am also in the pool and am wondering as well if PIT courses are offered in order of when the pool letter was received.

I got an email saying I was in a pool for future course dates due to october and november being cancelled. Since I got the email my friends at AC has advised me that on the ac message boards that only october is cancelled now.

I just did a medical with air Canada and I'm mid 30's, wife, 3 kids, mortgage all my time but 2000hrs were on 704 or 705 machine. Have around 5000hrs. I think the interview and personality tests is what gets you hired.

We do this all the time on the east coast, just call center and ask for an IFR clearance to abc, they just say "cleared to the abc vor maintain 5000, squawk 1234" thats it.

With the way the industry has evolved, a low time pilot has no other choice but go north and work on the ramp or dock. You could stay in a city and get a instructors gig but if you eventually want to move away from that sorta thing and fly turbines your gonna have to go north. Bite the bullet and go...

Why did they lose the Air Canada route between YYT and YQX? Was it when the owner's son became the VP? From what I understand it was when they went in direct competition with Air Canada doing the YUL-YQB-YZV-YWK run with their Dash 8's. The owners Son was the one who pushed for this run so I hear. ...
