Re: Marijuana Poll

Am I supposed to be impressed by ... the fact that you figured out how to post on the YouTube. I only hold an Engineering degree (Queen's University) and have spent 30 years programming in C/asm for cisco and RIM as an OS architect, so I probably don't know very much about computers compared to you...

Re: Marijuana Poll

Maybe random tests of motor skills for some of the irrelevant old timers past their best before date. I think that was probably directed at me as well, .. I probably don't have very good motor skills compared to the potheads here, either. Am I supposed to be impressed by your flying skills or the f...

Re: Marijuana Poll

No pot for this guy but I sure do love me my extra large double double in the morning. Nothing like that legal dose of stimulants to get all the synapses firing and work out the mental cobwebs. Of course I'd be lying if I said I haven't smoked my share of cigarettes when the stress in shop gets to m...

AEIO-360-H1A

Hello We recently started looking after an American Champion Decathalon and I'm looking to get my hands on the maintenance and overhaul manual (w/IPC) for the Lycoming AEIO-360-H1A. Anybody have a copy in .pdf format they wouldn't mind sending my way? Also if anyone has any advice or suggestions per...

Re: Ice Pilots of NWT Series on History Channel this Fall!

I've said it before and I will go to my grave saying it - if you are working the ramp, the desk, the hangar without also being in the process of being checked out, you are a slave. Doctors don't have to change sheets and swab the floors, lawyers don't have to dust the bench or clean the floors eith...

Re: Fireball across the prairies

Not sure if this is the exact meteor sighting you guys are talking about but I found this video from a police dash cam in Edmonton. There is no mention of when the video was filmed but it was posted shortly after Thursday's strike.

Re: Compounded emergencies

fouga pilot How did a gearbox failure result in a complete system failure? I don't know a thing about the 604 or it's engines, but one would think that a gearbox failure would mimic an engine failure in terms of loss of acessory drive, and not be catastrophic due to redundancy offered by the other e...

Strega, you really are a bitter little man aren't you?

What brought this retarded response on anyway? Isn't there another thread on the board comprised of your P Eng. vs AME bullshit?

I'm devestated to hear these rumors finally substantiated by people who actually work for Peace Air. Lots of good people are going to be affected by this and I wish them all well. Peace Air was my first job in aviation and provided me with the foundation to move on the bigger and better like alot of...

I guess they know what they're doing over there at Boeing, but you can't get something for nothing. You may save fuel by not bleeding engine compressor air, but you'll burn it by driving electric generators to heat the elements. I suppose it's been determined by Boeing to be more efficient to employ...

Re: Flight Sim 10....... a review

So how does FSX do on this machine, ever driven over bad washboard on the road?...just like that. Sitting on runway 36 in ywg in a Baron 58 with clear skies I get 12 fps out the window. If you dont know, 20 frames per second is consdered the lowest that can exist till the eye detects the flickering...

Yes agreed I'm going to work now to drill holes through all of the fasteners on my aircraft. To think, all this time we were carrying all this unnecessary weight in the form on solid fasteners. I'm going to contact the manufacturer of our wing attatch bolts and suggest they remove all excess materia...

Any idea how much the bill was for that job? parts included.
I think the powerpack was worth about $2000 and we put probably eight hours of labour into it.

Just an educated guess, though. It was done in house for the company's aircraft.

Hi I just replaced a hydraulic power pack on a PA-31/350 so you're in luck! The time specified for the handle to return to neutral was 5-9seconds. Not sure about the RPM, though as this test was conducted in accordance with the manual using a hydraulic power cart. GA MX Trainer Dude: Great advice. T...

I think they're referring to ignition lead lockwiring. Not lockwiring of the igniter or sparkplug itself. So no jet of flame or descompressed cylinder.

Damn! Guess I need to start respecting the codes. I honestly see them as distracting numbers next to the section of the aircraft I looking up in the maintenance manual lol.
