Re: Import aircraft for owner maintenance category questions

That is a very slippery slope you want to play on. Even if it is TECHNICALLY possible - there is no guarantee that a TC inspector will sign off on it. You may end up spending a lot of money on it and being able to go nowhere. The best advise is to get the package from TC, formulate a plan, and then ...

Vacation bookings through the roof in Europe. Easyjet up 600%

It looks like what most of us have suspected is true - people desperately want to travel. After the travel restrictions were lifted in Britain - bookings were up 600%. Hopefully this will follow in Canada soon. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/lifestyle/travel/news/easyjet-bookings-up-600percent-following-...

Juan does a great job on these.
Not bad....but I think he was trying too hard to make it into another Southwest scenario.

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

Instead of getting all worked up over each other - we should wait and see if it actually goes through. There's still a lot that can happen, and my gut still thinks there's nothing really left of any value in this for Air Canada after reading all the conditions of sale.

Re: Debris falls from 777 during emergency landing.

If you want to be a bit of a devil's advocate, an incident like this might be grounds for the FAA to look a bit deeper into the engine and ETOPS certification. One would hope they didn't cut any corners for that certification. Could turn ugly... Especially considering another boeing had similar iss...

Re: Debris falls from 777 during emergency landing.

Looks like this was identical to the 2018 incident to her sister ship (N773UA) just short of HNL. 1 blade separates at the root and the next blade fails midspan - while losing the inlet and fan cowls. I'm thinking some redesigns (notably to the inlets design) are coming for newer airplanes perhaps....

What's interesting is that it wasn't the only uncontained Pratt & Whitney engine to fail that day....... "A B747-4F had an uncontained engine failure on t/o , initial climb out of Maastricht ap in the Netherlands(Holland). Engine debris came down in a local village close to the ap and dama...

I agree with Gino 100%, and I stand by my statement that this country cannot make a ULCC work.

I do however - wish the Flair crew good luck in their venture and invite them to prove me wrong. I will happily eat my words and buy them the first round at the next layover. 8)

The Thunderbird and Trinity Landmarks are impossible to see when held below 1000 AGL and flying towards higher terrain. So what? Try using some basic airmanship sometime. Or are you one of these weekend warriors that pulls out your map and CFS madly trying to read it at the last minute? 5 taxiways ...

Truth is, something won't work, until one day it does. Oh god...really? No matter how you slice it 2+2 will never equal 5 Trying to pound a square peg into a round hole won't happen. How about trying a touch and go in an A320 with the gear up...how many times will it take to make that work? I could...

Sounds more like you have some axe to grind. I've been based out of YNJ for at least 25 years and it's not a dangerous place. Or close the tower. The CADORS almost always happen when the tower is open. How would closing the tower solve anything? If pilots can't follow instructions - they should be c...

ULCC will never work in Canada. I've said that before and I'll say it again. Those that keep referencing Ryanair, Easyjet, Frontier and the likes just prove they have no idea what they are talking about. This is Canada and as much as we would like to have those operations - they just will not work h...

Umm....Did Cargojet get a 777F already? I thought they were not coming for 2 years yet? Or did these people jump the gun? The B777-ERF arrived just days after the specialist carrier unveiled plans to augment its network and its fleet https://aircargoeye.com/canadas-cargojet-receives-its-first-new-b7...

We'll no longer be able to to an Antigua or Rio Hato or Liberia turn in a single day since we don't have the on-board rest facilities for an augmented crew.
They are already looking at installing these on board =- so it may yet happen that we can make that a turn.

Any chance that Air Canada will reject some of those conditions?

Re: Sunwing Receives Takeover Offer

If there was an offer from WestJet side, it wouldn’t be from any of the airlines, rather likely from Onex itself which will then consolidate it with some of its parts, possibly even add other names too. Onex has lots of cash reserve and this would be a good time for it to grow and consolidate its a...

Preserve the Transat brand?

Does that mean they will keep the name and Rouge is now history?
