Re: What is happening in YYZ?
I've lived in the third world so I can offer some guidance on living in that kind of society: A low competence society requires you to not rely on things like transportation, or any public service. Have a car you can fix yourself, cook your own food. Have redundancy everywhere. Print off your airlin...

Re: Air Canada Responds After Federal Government Opens Its Skies To Unexpected Competition
Do you guys think Air Canada would remain a viable airline if Canada were to become part of the United States? Obviously they'd have to more than double pilot salaries to retain any crew but otherwise would they be able to compete with US legacy airlines?

Of course it's against the law. That's why you have to sign the paper to give up your legal rights. Then when questioned they'll say nobody forced you to sign just like they said nobody forced you to get vaccinated.

If they stopped putting berms on the ends of runways there would be less accidents involving aircraft hitting them.

I don't think Carson was first. There was also WestJet Encore. Also some flight school in Gatineau requested an LMIA for instructors, Select Aviation. Tons of crop spraying companies have applied. A few helicopter operators as well. "The diversity of our student and instructor population demonstrat...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
Even with Pattern Bargaining, this Air Canada MEC couldn't secure the gains WestJet had. Rather brutal performance for AC ALPA. In my limited dealing with the current leadership they have come across as very pro-company while the pilots that are paying lot of money for their representation are thou...

Not everyone is cut out for this. From the 100+ people that started my aviation college program around 20 people graduated. Of those less than 10 are still in the industry as pilots. Most of those people could be making more in other industries in my opinion.

You make a good point Conflicting Traffic. It's such a messed up culture that we have where employers will do absolutely anything except pay a decent salary to their employees. Air Canada estimated it lost about $375 million in operating income from the strike by their flight attendants.

Canada has the worst housing affordability to income ratio in the entire OECD, and it's not even close. It's up 80% since 2004. Seeing people trying to defend it is the weirdest form of Stockholm Syndrome.
