Re: Pilots Support Retirement
JayDee Of course they would agree to come back, as what was probably advised to them by their council. Do you think that after all of the efforts to get the right to work past 60, they would walk away when they didn't like what was being offered. NOOOOO!! Then it would be completely obvious that the...

Re: Flt Deck Cleanliness
As an RP, I find it disgusting to come back after break to find food trays stacked on the jumpseat. Salad dressing, mystery sauce and everything else spilled onto the fabric where I am now suppossed to sit. Put the trays on the floor, or better yet, ring the girls to come up and get them. RP's are p...

Re: to new ac pilots
I showed up to my interview with a recommendation letter from my Chief Pilot and the VP of flight Ops. Went in and told them upfront about the interview. I figured that I didn't want them getting any surprises. If your current employer is at all with the times, they are probably expecting to you to ...

St. Maarten
Just curious if any WJ'ers have any info on flights to St. Maarten. My inlaws have booked a trip in January and the airline code is West Jet. This flight originates out of Hamilton. I didn't realize West Jet flew to St. Maarten or is this a new flight?

As I understand it yes. You are asked what equipment you fly when you book the appointment for your exam. AOM questions will obviously be aircraft specific. The EMJ guys have there own forum which I would not have access too and I know alot of AC guys frequent this site. Just looking for a little he...

Keep in mind that even if the hiring board decides you are going to be hired, you are put into a pool. If you are ranked in the lower end of the pool it could take months before you work yourself high enough to get the call. You can also work the other way and get pushed out of the pool by candidate...

I was hired in June with no degree. ( year and a half of university completed, dropped out and started flying) At the time I had 5000 hours, all turbo props. Was a check pilot and simulator instructor. My last position was ops manager for a cargo operation in Toronto. Those who know me can keep thei...

For example, bidding YYZ R/P on the subsequent bid means that you would only be working about 8 days a month (2 4-day pairings). You are assuming a 340 or 777 RP. I am on the 767 and have about 18 guys behind me. I am consistently getting 16 days a month. The '67 does more deadheads and at only hal...

I am sure you maybe read in previous posts...but since Air Canada started hiring last summer, they specifically state that they require University degree, or a diploma from an aviation school....I haven't seen anywhere if they have a preference of what school, as there are quite a few out there, bu...

Necessary shots
Hey guys, as a new AC hire I have a question regarding shots or better yet a list of recommended shots. As an RP I am going to see my fair share of Delhi's and Asian destinations and am concerned about possibly contracting some form of disease. Not so much for me but more passing it onto my young ki...
