Re: O-200 cold weather starting

For what its worth and my two cents, get the MOGAS STC and use premium grade (no ethanol) car gas. I ran this in a C150 I had twelve years ago and it would start like a dream. Smelled like a lawn mower when it did, but it started. It had the collateral benefit of reducing plug fouling and the values...

Re: Twin engine input

I did my Multi and Multi IFR in a PA30B thirty years ago and owned one for three years up to 2018.

I loved, love, loved the airplane and would have kept it if I had not decided to sell my GA aircraft. (I got a job flying full time in 705).

I would be happy to share my experiences.

I have not, because I didn't know that the website existed.

But I do now.

Thank you for the help.

Seeking Sample Test Questions for Class IV Instructor Written Exam (AIRAF)

Good day, I am in the process of preparing to rewrite the AIRAF for my Instructor rating in the next few weeks. I am presently working through the Study and Reference Guide - but am also looking for sample test questions so that I can self test before I go in. Are there online materials that anyone ...

Re: A Twist on Medical

CBRRider after rereading the original post, the responses and your subsequent posts I find myself concerned about the future implications of the decision that you are on the cusp of making. In your original post you acknowledge that you made an ill-considered decision to lie to your family physician...

Re: A Twist on Medical

Coincidentally I had this exact discussion with my Aviation Doctor during my last medical in November. I had just started medication for blood pressure and was concerned about its impact on my ability to hold a Category One for my ATPL. My Dr told me a story about an applicant who came in for his fi...

Re: Admission to flight Test

Mr. TC, I was hoping you could help with an answer to this situation. I have been training for my CPL using a private aircraft that does not have any Radio navigation equipment, I’ve been using ForeFlight on an IPad. In preparation for the flight test, the flight test guide says: “The examiner will...

Re: Flying Through YYC Class C Question

No need to apologize for asking a question to clarify when you don’t know the procedure. We all had to start somewhere and better to ask than to blunder through. The VFR routes are depicted in both the CFS and the YYC terminal air chart. These will set out landmarks which will be call up or mandator...

Re: DOH merge.

There will be some give and take. Everyone needs to get that in their heads on both sides. 100% agree. No truer words have been spoken. I spent twenty years in another business negotiating large dollar value contracts before coming to aviation full time. If I have learned one thing, and as simplist...

Re: American Express (Premium Plaza) Lounge will now require a boarding pass

Wonder how many people will book themselves on standby travel, check in, show boarding pass, then cancel the trip. Not that the cons listed is ever accurate anyway. Paid tickets only. Employee pass travel is ineligible for lounge access. Same rules apply for the Premium Pass (black) card...

Re: Encore take home pay?

Anywhere from $1000-$2000/bi- weekly after tax. Depends on what type of worker your are. PM me for details. +1 But I would tighten that to say 1700-2000/mo if you are flying 85 hrs per month with minimal OT. That includes per diems and allowances. Someone's math is wrong I am sorry. I made an error...

Re: ATPL Foreign Conversion

Good morning: To answer some of your questions: a) You have to complete the multi engine flight test in an actual airplane. You cannot take the test in simulator. This need not be a 737 or 787 aircraft...a light piston twin aircraft rented from a flight training unit will suffice. You will need a le...

I have reordered the 18" neck from them but am pursuing other options simultaneously. Thanks to all for ...

Re: ? Pilot shirts for the widebody pilot

How wide we talking here? Aviation World sells the A Cut Above shirts up to a 19.5 neck. I'm told those are the shirts used by Delta Airlines and we've all seen how big those boys are. Neck size is not the issue. The standard 17.5 inch ones fit fine around the neck. The area around my engine nacell...

? Pilot shirts for the widebody pilot

Help please. I have tried the search function to no avail. Can anyone recommend a Canadian retailer selling short sleeve pilot shirts for a widebody pilot. (And no I don't fly them....I am in initial ground school for the Q400.) Our company's uniform supplier's size 17.5 inch neck (VF Activewear) do...
