Re: Who Wants to Fly WJ
You’re a special kind of retard if you believe Sunwing was about to go bankrupt. “Accordingly, and on the one hand, what evidence there is establishes that Sunwing was in serious trouble. Local 4070 [the WestJet flight attendants] is undoubtedly correct that it was rescued by WestJet.” That’s from ...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
The problem is that it would be up to the airline to challenge it, we experienced that with the Jazz/AC agreement. PAL was a complete violation but Jazz didn’t challenge it. Hopefully this is not the situation for you guys, I noticed this morning Transat posted a net loss for the fourth quarter of ...

Re: So when is Peak Leverage?!
Any idea what the wording is for the PD/TS joint venture, any aircraft restrictions? Haven't seen the language yet, possibly out today. It's unrestricted thru the scope, only in what TS-PD have negotiated. We were told the are some restrictions thru the competition bureau if one party went "wild". ...

Re: Poll: What is the most embarrassing aspect of the Air Canada pilot contract?
You guys are actually upset Transat has a good contract? That just helps with negotiations against AC. Management knows that they have to match Transat after screaming AC's comparison is national airlines. Celebrate the win I don't think anyone is angry about it, quite the opposite. Everyone I've s...

Huh? Then tell me what "go play with a farm animal" means in your books? Are you saying its a kind, well intentioned insult? You simply meant that I should go ride a horse right? Seriously... get real. Everyone knows what disgusting insults like that mean. Even you know what it means. AI thinks you...

You wouldn’t survive the ‘60s and ‘70s, that Generation wasn’t soft with a “poor me, life is so unfair” . "I wonder who that could be" and look who popped up. I called you weak, not soft. Soft would be a lesser insult. Ah my friend…. I was there those decades, got the inside line I dare say. Life w...

What I disagree with is the approach. The jealousy of boomers is coming across as blame and anger. That doesn't solve the problem. We probably wouldn't blame things on them if there wasn't a verifiable track record of them getting in the way to make things difficult, more expensive or outright impo...

Re: Anyone have any clue what the proposed SALARY SCALE LOOKS LIKE WITH THE NEW TA?
Fair enough. I was off. I'm seeing a 38k raise for yr 1 based on the 2024 salary table for Yr1 captain. So no, not 100k. And unless I have the worng numbers, not 25k either. I was off because I was looking at the hourly rate on the old contract. But looking at the old contract Y1 cpt at 187K vs 220...

Re: Anyone have any clue what the proposed SALARY SCALE LOOKS LIKE WITH THE NEW TA?
Ok, will do. Yr 1 fo old contract, not a living wage. A bit less than the average Canadian? Or there abouts... Yr 1 fo new contract, still not a living wage. About average? Or there abouts... Yr 12 ca old contract, very much a living wage. In fact, 4-5 times what the average Canadian makes Yr 12 ca...

Re: Anyone have any clue what the proposed SALARY SCALE LOOKS LIKE WITH THE NEW TA?
Captain 100k raise FO annual salary 85k Pretty much what youd expect. I get your point, and agree that Jr FOs should be higher, but you're being misleading here. I looked at the pay scales in the summary and you're literally comparing a current top rate cpt to the same cpt at the end of the contrac...

Re: US Air Travel Down, Overall Air Travel Up.
You’re going to need to show your work here! I’m looking at the 2003 pay scale, year 1 Captain was 65.01, adjusted 104.29 Today’s year 1 is 112.60 top Captain was year 15- 92.24/hour, adjusted for inflation is 145.39. Today’s year 15 Captain is 166.27/hour, top is 175.99 For good measure I’ll inclu...

Re: First in Canada 100% deadhead pay Will other alpa pilots follow?
If you say so. But I disagree. My impression is that 4 out of 5, or probably even more, have little spine to stand up against to a crew scheduler or manager and tell them no, this just gives them another reason to be compliant and make it work for everyone else. Sooooo you're saying 4 out of 5 guys...

$2900 per month is not a livable wage. Anyone that voted for that should feel bad for what they did to their junior colleagues while enriching themselves. It's shameful behaviour. No shortage of boomers here telling us its just fine if we cut down on those pesky starbucks and avocado toasts. Appare...

Re: First in Canada 100% deadhead pay Will other alpa pilots follow?
I'll bring up an aspect that I don't think has been mentioned yet. In my experience at the various 703s and 705s I've worked at, pilots will accept an unforeseen the vast majority of the time. Does it always happen? No! I'm not here to argue the why's, merits, downsides, etc. Just pointing out a sim...

Old Boomer here….. Can someone give me a reasonable explanation with examples why I had it so good in the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. You shouldn’t be flamed for that but unfortunately the ones who quit in the middle of training don’t see anything but their own issues and their belief that they shouldn’t have to wait for anything! 12 years and 6000 hours(not my choice) to only have to wait 9 years for a left seat(not my choice) m...

This thread has taken a turn! There's a lot to unpack in here. At Air Transat we had a lot of ground to make up in the pay and take home especially. New pay scales are good, some improvements everywhere and for everyone. New benefits and insurance deal with a pension should improve take home. I sus...

Some good gains yes but the fact Porter is exempt from Scope would be very concerning to me as an AT pilot. At the very least they should have been limited to no more than the current ratio of flying or scope any Porter flying to jets with a MTOW / seat capacity of the E2. I’ve just seen the exec s...

The funny and ironic thing about participation trophies is that they were demanded by Boomers and GenX'ers because they couldn't properly parent their loser kids. So who were these trophies really for?
