I really doubt that. Where did you hear that from?

Re: DEI And Aviation — Boeing’s take.

The whole concept of IQ is questionable because there isn’t a widely accepted definition of intelligence. For linguistic tasks, women score higher. For mathematical/spatial tasks men score higher; does being good with languages mean you are smarter than someone who is good with math, or is it vice ...

Re: DEI And Aviation — Boeing’s take.

Fliter really grasping at straws to justify DEI. Ok in your world garbage collector is coveted career. Whats your definition for a shit job then? Is there a push for DEI to be in it? We need more DEI coal miners and DEI sewage cleaners right? Or is that also a great sought after career that strives ...

Re: DEI And Aviation — Boeing’s take.

I have a small sample group, but here's what I'd like to say; I've taught roughly 100 pilots. Maybe 6 or 7 were women. Of those, every single one was exceptional compared to the overall 100. Taking an average from the men and the women, the women showed up better prepared, more intent, and less hun...

Re: DEI And Aviation — Boeing’s take.

Have you ever noticed that the DEI frauds whine about not enough female airline pilots and have all kinds of programs to try and get more of them but not one of them EVER complains about not enough construction workers, garbage collectors, plumbers, truck drivers etc, etc. It is all just a scam to ...

IQ bell curve: You do realise this was a hypothetical (made up) example of what the bell curve does NOT look like. Here is the tweet: https://x.com/nuance_enjoyer/status/1785602734483534275 Most meta-analyses shows very little difference between male and females, so the second graph (above) is prob...

Re: A potential career with all the automation & artificial intelligence coming out

What would make you assume military pilots and airline pilots to have significantly different IQs? Because the military have a much harder selection process. In the civilian world as long as you pay you can keep trying and hopefully improve. Generally, having the aptitude to pick something up quick...

Re: A potential career with all the automation & artificial intelligence coming out

I was. And I've returned to it after spending some time in the airlines. The claim that only a "small minority that has what it takes to be an airline pilot" is complete horseshit. In 30 years, I've worked with exactly 3 students who had no business being anywhere near an airplane. For everyone els...

Re: A potential career with all the automation & artificial intelligence coming out

What makes you think only a small minority has what it takes to be an airline pilot? Because I spent years training hopeful future airline pilots... I was a flight instructor. I reckon you weren't. I was. And I've returned to it after spending some time in the airlines. The claim that only a "small...

Re: It’s Time - Back on track

I'm starting to genuinely question whether unions actually benefit more then they cost, 1.85 percent of salary tax deductible, when time after time they don't seem to do great on contract negotiations. I know there's some advantages, but they seem minimal and are they really worth the cost? After wa...

Sorry gents, every man has a limit. This isn't just about one idiot on the internet. I've noticed the number of morons I interact with increasing rapidly offline and online. The childish mentality of "if I don't understand this, no one else does" seems to be rampant. Dare I suggest that if you find...

Re: Air Canada Pilot Incentive Bonus

Lots of bluster from ignorant keyboard warriors on here. This "turd deal" just so happens to be the largest collective agreement (per capita) in Canadian history, with a top to bottom 42% raise! Who else in Canada is seeing raises like that? Did we get everything we wanted? No. Were we able to fix ...

Right, so fear then. You are all cowards. No we get it. FYI I voted no because I thought we could do better. I recognize though that there was a chance we might have gotten worse because of arbitration. Everyone has different risk tolerances due to themselves and their personal circumstances. Are y...

LMAO, the regression of grown ass men to juvenile children never ceases to amaze me. It's like getting a window into the mind of the average NPC. All those "gotchas" and "quips" that they would never say in real life, come out in the internet. I have a feeling that the men who made this country wou...

Lol...the irony Pilots at Air Canada think their calculator will yield them $600k per year one day yet the industry won't move to reduce these costs. And somehow some line in their contract will save them from the inevitable reduction of pilots in airliners. Vehicles already drive themselves and ar...

Re: AC or Porter?

In the past year there are guys holding left seat on the 220 with 8mos on property. Unless he's only looking at DEC for Porter, upgrades are comparable atm. I've yet to hear it being that quick at AC, at shortest 2 years but thats just what I've heard. And that will likely get longer as hiring slow...

Re: 67% yes

I think at some point reality needs to set in that Air Canada pilots will never get the opportunity they just had. To have that level of unity, a government that vocally supports labour(even the Conservatives), a profitable company and staggering comparables to pilots that do the same job (that get...

Let me help you BradleyScott The pension calculator assumes: - 85 hrs a month (many DBMs this month are 70) - 2% pay raises until retirement (if you think you're going the next 25 years without a crisis...not to mention the reduced pilot in the cockpit threat that will lead to serious concessions o...

Re: AC or Porter?

I think part of it was that you could upgrade to captain at porter much quicker than at AC. Anyways its all hypothetical anyways because no E2 pilot is higher than about year 3 or 4 on the pay scale. There are no year 12 E2 pilots. And as I said before, AC just had a big pay raise which porter will...

Re: AC or Porter?

At the moment, PD is back to being the lowest paying major airline in Canada. 170 an hour for a jet Captain? They need to seriously step up their wages or I'd just go to AC. You 'll get a YVR base there within 2 years (if not day 1), and the long game pay wise is so much better, the pension is some...
