Re: Emirates 380 de declares an emergency and heads to YOW

I was behind them on the apprch to YYZ and they reported a wind shear alert which required them to go-around. They then requested clrnce to YOW.

Re: TA REJECTED

If by "sold out" you're referring to DC vs. DB debate, you need a reality check. Perhaps a great day for those hoping to join AC but not for those already there. Why jeopardize your pension's stability for the sake of somone who isn't even at your company yet? The DC plan sounded to be very generous...

1.5-2 hours of holding fuel?! Delta sure carries a lot more granny gas than Air Canada does!!!

Re: capt Hal haynes talk about 60 age retirement law

There should be a mandatory age past which one should not be able to drive a car. Perhaps 80? Doctors and MOT driving inspectors seem to find it very hard to tell someone that they aren't fit to drive any more and just shut their eyes and use the rubber stamp. My grandfather passed all his tests onc...

Haliburton, Ontario also has one on display and has since the early 1970's.

Re: Air Canada Ordered to Pay Dr. For Mid-Air Consult

Why should AC be required to pay the doctor anything? AC isn't in the business of providing health care, last time I checked. He should have simply billed the ministy of health from the province in question. That makes more sense. The guy's a cheap whiner.

Re: Seneca College Baron Gear Up Landing

For what it's worth, In the early 1990's, I spent a long lunch break at YMX watching a Luftansa A320 doing circuits with it's gear in the down position the entire time. Don't know why but I know that they were training new pilots.

ENOUGH comments about AC's hiring practices and the effectiveness of the psych evaluation. Do you know that these tests are intended to detect mental illness? Who here knows what this poor guys problem is? CAL, comments like that make you look like such a DORK. (stfu)

CI - don't be such a knob. Tony just pointed out that most AC skippers also make good dough and you go on a rampage - trashing everyting from AC's 767's, to the appearance of the FA's. We're all thrilled for you that you've found your little slice of paradise now quit rubbing our noses in it and go ...

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?

PC-12 ANY DAY! I´ve flown the PC-12 as well as the BE-18,-200 and 1900 and none of the bee-atches can touch the pc-12 for pilot comfort and ease of work-load. Going from a 1997 pc-12 to a 2001 Be-1900 was a HUGE step backwards in terms of general cockpit layout and avionics :?

For me, the airline job has been excellent for my family life; I'm the only Dad able to take his kids to "Tiny Tots" on Mondays and swimming lessons every Tuesday morning. I was also only one of two Dads able to make it to the Fathers Day party at my daughters JK this year. I was able to front-load ...

KIAS is right on the money. I just wore a pair of Chinos with a nice shirt - it's all in your attitude. Guys in suits sitting there looked so damn uncomfortable (read: high blood pressure) and I can't imagine peeling it off for the ECG and then putting it all back on again to race out to the next ev...
