Re: IT/Ramp - Northwestern Air Lease
Let me make a suggestion. The person hired for this position should DEMAND wages as per IT Industry standards. Interesting to see what their reaction would be. Maybe even combine the two, IT wages plus say minimum wage for flying and it may work out okay. I recall same job posting bout 2 years ago....

Re: Looking to buy block hours for NIGHT PIC in southern Ont
This sounds like a lot of poor ass planning on your part. Unfortunately you're not the only dude out there suddenly realising he needs a bunch of night time close to the LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR . Just trying to get ATPL requirements, 20 hours of Night PIC left. If only those blood sucking flight sc...

Please do not hesitate to call out the emergency equipment!! We are here on standby all day for you guys.....thats what we get paid for! Ok, now this may be a dumb question. Assume the trucks were on standby near the threshold for a 26L landing at YVR. Aircraft ends up short, on Russ Baker way as h...

Re: JAR License
There is lots of info, search google or even AvCanada. If it is just a CPL you can convert it, depending on how much practice you need, it may take 5 - 10 hrs. If you want to fly for airlines, have to get JAA fATPL or frozen ATPL If you have a PPL or CPL you can start to study for the 14 exams that ...

Re: JAA Schools in Canada?
If you were a Canuck with a JAA, would any company out there take you anyway? Or would you need to secure a citizenship somewhere? If you had a JAA you'd be alright to work in European Union Countries from the licensing point of view. You would then have to worry about having the right to work in t...

Re: Continental Flt 3407 Crash at Buffalo/Niagra Intr'nal
I was just listening to the 0330Z Liveatc archive and approach had another Colgan Q400 on approach. Approach advised that company Q400 went down 5 nm short of runway....Approach did say that Colgan 3407 was switched over to tower freq. 3407 never made a call to tower. They lost his (3407) transponde...

http://archive-server.liveatc.net/kbuf/KBUF-Feb-13-2009-0300Z.mp3 3407 comes on a few minutes in. Approach cleared 3407 to the beacon for RWY 23, then handed them off to twr freq and . That was their last communication.... The file wasn't streaming anything from tower at that time, so not sure if t...
