A little off topic... but to answer Endless. No things do not get better as the industry upswings. Owners get the mentality that their pilots are only there for a short time so they pay less and treat them worse. That is not to say that all companies are like this, but the ones that treat you bad wh...

CRM

The scene is sometime in the old era when cockpits had round dials plus flight engineers and navigators. The crusty old-timer captain is breaking in a brand new navigator. The captain opens his briefcase, pulls out a .38 and rests it on the glare panel. He asks the navigator, "Know what this is for?...

Thanks for the tips. I cann't afford a new headset (I am a pilot) and 200 bills is just too much. I have already been to Radio Shack and the guy there was an Electronics tech and he was unable to help. This thing at sportys - how well does it work and will it work with a regular MP3?

Is there such a thing?

I was wondering if there was a way that I could listen to an MP3 player through my headset and still hear traffic calls. It has to be portable so I don't need an STC. It also has to be affordable.

Thanks

Good luck to all of those employees that did the real work at Skyward and actually provided a service.

Who would you choose?

Question?

You are going on vacation:

The cost of the ticket is the same for every carrier and all carriers have the same routes.

Who would you choose and why?

Would it change if it was a short, medium or long trip?

You are somewhat correct. As a private operator duty rules do not apply. However if you go over your times then you cannot fly commercially. For example for the last 18 days your times at you job are 100 hrs you get a week off and take your 172 on a tour through the States and put 25 hours on it. Yo...

Sorry flying high but it will get worse, much worse. The runways are still good, soon when you land you wont need brakes as the mud will stop you better than your brakes normally do. If you are lucky you wont get stuck. I have seen a 200's left main sunk so all you could see was the top 2 inches of ...

Look at it this way turbine PIC or 12500+ time. Where do you want your career to take you. Trying to get 12500+ time when you have 3500 hrs is not as easy as some think. PIC is king unless the companies you want to work for need 12500+ time. After great pay and lots of captain time it will be hard t...
