you think they wall call back the lay offs then?
Not necessarily, they will be on a standby status, on 75% of their wage to the max allowed, it doesn’t look like Jazz will make up the difference, it’s just keeping the ones on layoff from having to go on EI for now

Any time now, mods.... There is no violation and people can have ideas different than yours, right or wrong it's not a crime. You should just deal with it instead of calling for their censure. Oh relax. Years ago they got rid of the miscellaneous forum and it was decided that discussions should be ...

Yes, really. Of course because any decent job is already taken or 100s of resumes already. In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a supply of pilots all of the sudden.

Re: Were airlines sacrificed for the Nation ?

You think someone who lost their job, are worse, a couple, both of whom lost their jobs, don’t care about several thousand dollars they have in a paid vacations ? Right now it is the airlines looking bad for not being able to reimburse the unused tickets (airlines worldwide) for if they did, they w...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines: 'No survivors' on crashed Boeing 737 max

Ethiopian investigators no doubt. So how is it that the Lion Air incident crew was able to fly their MCAS airplane for an hour and a half using the manual trim wheel after the Stab Trim shut-off switches were used to turn off all electrical trim. There can be no doubt that the control forces (manua...

Fact is, nobody knows for sure, if the market though it was a done deal the stock would be 18ish dollars.
Anybody remember the price of TRZ shares when the deal was announced?

Re: Companies Laying off.

I am curious. How is it that AC (and I believe WJ and Encore) managed to come up with a work share agreement to reduce (mitigate) the effects of the industry downturn yet Jazz has come up with nothing? Did the Jazz ALPA MEC sacrifice their junior members by not doing some sort of work share thus al...

Yeah well the great and almighty ALPA gave up the requirement for a downbid too... but hey at least the ones not effected keep their left seat, left seat pay and oh ya dont touch my db kid! If a down-bid was run now, the layoffs at Jazz would be much worse. That shows how little you know...

Re: Layoffs

Heard notices went out yesterday, any updates from ACPA regarding mitigation, early retirements etc.. We had 675 notices at Jazz, apparently they are still working on mitigation but there is a chance more notices go out if the flying is further reduced. Currently sitting at 12% of the original April...

Re: Ground school canceled

Going to level with you, the train is going to be a while, so I’m thinking you might want a job that pays the bills to ride this out. If you can find a flying job, good for you, the competition is going to be pretty high given 675 Jazz pilots just received notice and probably about the same at AC, i...

675 until July 1, 2020, no loss of pay or position until then either. Captains will be assigned right seat duties as required until either more layoffs or a reduction bid is run, wow! I’m still in shock how quickly we went from a shortage to massive layoffs, I hope we can recover almost as fast. The...

Was there a reason from the pilots perspective that a collective agreement needed to be agreed to at this time? It sounds funny, agreed, but weren't airlines considered essential services? How are people getting home if there are no airlines flying around? If we don’t have our annual CRM, are the planes going to start falling from the sky? Jazz has made adjustments to class size so that we can have the physi...

Re: Coronavirus Numbers

Reported numbers and mortality rates are USELESS. They are only good at causing enough concern to self isolate as to not overload the medical system. Hundreds of thousands have probably already had it, but were not tested. Mortality rates are only a factor of those "known" with this Flu bug. Since ...
