Re: Chorus to be sold ?

I think if it was AC, a lot of us who have been at Jazz for a long time, would prefer to keep things separate. I have no desire to wade into the multi year mess that a list merger would bring. It would interfere greatly with my zen, and likely increase my beer consumption. But I would love the iron...

Re: Chorus to be sold ?

Well let’s not get too carried away yet. We don’t know who it is or even if it will go through at all. If it were AC, I’d be happy if the lists were to remain separate though. I chose to stay at Jazz and have no desire to “fly the big planes” someday. Same here, I would much prefer to be a separate...

Re: Chorus to be sold ?

I don’t think that would happen, that road was taken the last time AC owned the regionals and a judge decided they were not “common employer”. In the US, mainline carriers own regionals with separate seniority list, just a better flow through agreement. This is 2020 so who knows what will happen. W...

Who, in their right mind would buy a company without a long term contract?

Re: COVID MOA 2

Well you didn't lose your DB when Jazz was spun off, and ours is significantly overfunded. Join them and call it a day. Whether that happens or not is the question but as someone not on the DB at AC I have nothing against you keeping yours. Now the conversation about "winfall gains" would very much...

Re: COVID MOA 2

Yeah I don't think it's AC. This is perhaps some sneaky business. Jazz is doing a big portion of AC's actual flying right now. If someone bought them and put a stop to that AC would really be left scrambling to move passengers economically. It's probably just Trudeau and his little journalist becom...

Re: COVID MOA 2

if the above is true regarding acquisition, can't help but think ACPA stoked the fire on that one. 500 million dollar decisions are not made because ACPA filed a grievance that they will either lose or more likely settle for a sack of magic beans. Unfortunately, the keyboard doesn’t convey the true...

Re: COVID MOA 2

I think most members voted based on their assessment of the candidates running for their LEC Chair position, not just whether these candidates openly support joining ALPA. ALPA may very well be the right move under the right terms for us. But if I don’t think a candidate will make a good LEC Chair,...

How much do the benefits cost AC? Claimsecure is an administrator, not an insurer. The CWIPP pension costs them 4.5% of SFA. The news will soon come out about CEWS. They can't resist free money... As a furloughed member, I just applied for EI. Being on CEWS would be a huge change for me and my fami...

The irony of those who hate the Liberals but are begging for handouts is not lost on me. So, the airline industry should collapse based on who is in the PM seat? If you were drowning and the only person there with their hand out to save you was the guy who slept with your wife, you would drown? Sou...

Dude I'm really confused, were you sending me a pro mask study? I mean everything I read here is talking about how a mask is a waste of fucking time. In summary, the evidence is consistent that a respirator must be worn throughout the shift to be protective. Targeted use of respirators only when do...
