Re: Eggs in one basket

Are you suggesting that SKV didn’t “help out tremendously” thru the GGN and 737 hiccups. As for Thomas Cook I respectfully suggest that AC doesn’t view it as “water under the bridge” and will position itself so that it can’t potentially have a negative impact on them. Additionally doesn’t it works ...

Re: When do you think flying will be back to february 2020 level

I'm still pretty confident in my one year prediction. The corona levels seem to be starting to drop off in the USA now with people finally starting to understand that commonsense measures actually make sense. Once the USA gets in a better position (possibly in the next few months) things will proba...

Re: No Gear Extension On King Air - Check the CB First

CBs generally don’t pop out for no reason, so the advice would be to check your CBs before flight. It sounds like the noise they heard could very well have been an electric motor issue that caused the breaker to pop. My company policy is to NOT reset any CB in flight, if it’s out, it’s out for a rea...

With all you outlined that you achieved during your career at AC, I would question whether or not you always showed up for work meeting the required definition of rested. I am not suggesting that you should not have access to and post on this Forum. All I am saying is that with the dozens (hundreds...

Jesus. Mbav8r has been talking about being at jazz for the last 13 yrs. I was bored so took a quick look back. What a conspiracy. Yep, always transparent and I’m sure if Ray had read my posts without emotion, he might have picked up on it. Anyhow, I’m not so sure I was ever as critical as he implie...

Re: 2nd Job

Who says Air Canada would be the OP's primary employer? Is there a legal or contractual definition of "primary employer"? Not that it really matters for the answer, but I thought it was interesting a couple of posters named AC as the primary employer. I’m not sure what the percentage would be, give...

Re: 2nd Job

At Jazz this is in our agreement, I would be surprised if AC doesn’t have similar language; If you are a pilot with Jazz, why are you so active on this Forum, which is for Air Canada pilots? Are you kidding me with that! It’s a public forum, PUBLIC and if I have an opinion based on my 30 years in t...

Re: 2nd Job

Your time is your time. What you choose to do with it is none of Air Canada's business. The reality may differ, but my sentiment remains the same. no matter what your other job is you are expected to be available and rested No. Not if you made your pre-existing commitments clear. But to be fair - I...

Where did you get the mortality rate numbers? Most of the information that I can find about Canadian numbers is just the infection rates. I can’t find death rates of the infected, nor the hospitalizations of those infected. Canadian information is scarce vie a vie secondary heath issues. https://ww...

Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

The assumption that you are making Rockie is that the FA is sane. This cannot be ascertained nor guaranteed. Pilot to pilot interaction in the flight planning room, the walk to the gate, the coffee lineup, and such, can give warnings of the mental state of each. This does not happen between FA’s an...

We didn't have that amount protests and riots here. Viruses don't care about people's politics and take advantage. It's not the protests. It's the shopping, restaurants, nail salons, pool parties and just general assembly of people that is causing the resurgence in the states that opened up too ear...

Actually as of April 6th the number of worldwide confirmed cases reported to the WHO is 1,210,244 with the number of related deaths standing at 67,583. Now there are a several caveats to go along with those numbers but to save you the trouble of doing the math yourseelf that equals a 5.58% mortalit...

I expect nothing. I want the chance to BID on business class. Bidding is not free. If I don't get it, and the seat goes empty, too bad. I am trying to look at the airlines as a business person would, instead of this twisted view that somehow asking for something besides being able to walk at the en...

How about this .. The airport authority puts the proper markings on the ground (airlines don't own the airports and jetways), now passengers use their common sense and stand on the markings. Yes they are. When boarding, the gate agents check your ticket and allow you on the jetway. You as a passenger can not see how many people are there, and if there are any line ups or jams. If the gate agent doesn't scan your tickets, there will be no line up on the jetway. Pax can do stupid things,...

All valid and good points. Jazz came out today stating that medical benefits only will get partially covered (30%) for their furloughed pilots + getting CEWS. (for the entire duration of the CEWS program) Jazz is a subcontractor to AC, yet an independent company. Good on them for not following the ...

Let me clarify. I mean flat pay guys. Not your mid-seniority captain that is sitting on his porch in his Muskoka cottage making $10-15k+ per month to enjoy their beer. Not earning, but making. But it's not about the seniors (for once). For starters, Jazz guys will get CEWS for the duration of the p...
