Re: MPIC time or move on? What's next?

Good Day Everyone, I am new here and this question might have been asked already, my apologies if so. I've been a 703/704 FO on a Multi-Turbo prop for about 8 month now. Started out of ramp in the middle of nowhere just like the old days. I am about to reach 1000TT soon. I've got an Aviation degree...

Access to employee discounts doesn’t scream run away? Maybe she knew, maybe she didn’t how can she prove it, either way if you buy something that is stolen without doing due diligence, you would be charged for possession of stolen goods. I’d be careful if I were her, AC could put pressure on authori...

Re: Reverser Light Leads to Engine Shutdown

I will answer the technical aspect, as for how the crew ended up shutting it down and then restarted it, I can only speculate like the rest of you. As for the QRC(Quick reference checklist), both have you confirm the thrust lever and retard it to idle, the 200 has a retard system that actually bring...

Re: A "NEW" One List?

mbav8r, If only it were that easy. Due to a number of reasons I've outlined previously, simply voting No on a TA while waiting for the One List LOA to be signed wasn't an option. For a number of reasons, it did need to be the second step in the process. I don't condone non-Jazz pilots from playing ...

Re: A "NEW" One List?

The wording was there before. Sort of. The ability to bump was in the non-unionized WJPA mainline and Encore contracts from 2015. However, not included in those contracts was the very strong scope clause that now exists in the mainline ALPA contract. The contractual clauses issue that I have referr...

I think they ran out of fuel, first one quit, then shortly after the other.
Instead of declaring a fuel leak, the used the ass covering excuse, the old plane just couldn’t maintain altitude on one.
Of course, this is all in jest because I have no idea what happened

Hello centre.....we have a fuel leak......CLASSIC ass cover. So, on the Air Tindi accident thread, you were completely wrong, you vilified a crew without so much as a thread of evidence, here you are again. You’re a real piece of.... work! You have no evidence they lied, none, nada, zip! Perhaps yo...

JBI, I understand that you’re a lawyer, so you would or should know better than most the importance of how something can be interpreted. Section 1-1.05 is the important one where (a) there will be 90% of active WJ pilot positions and (b) No pilot shall be laid off as a direct result of a number of d...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

That’s extremely disappointing to read. I once had a vacuum pump fail, the CP wanted me to fly it to a maintenance base after the sun had already gone down. I told him no and after several back and forth and threats of firing me, I still said no. He hung up on me, then phoned back and demanded I be ...

No one is getting “screwed”, they are not forced to accept the job, honestly does anyone accept responsibility for their choices anymore. The Captains are getting paid travel because those positions would otherwise go unfilled, if the FO positions remained unfilled, guess what, they would likely get...

First off, no I wouldn’t accept the job but perhaps if I was first starting out I would consider it. Next, the “rotational” description is from the poster above, it is not mentioned in their job postings, in fact it says they will allow 30 days of housing to transfer into their network, after listin...

WTF, or how about you live in pickle lake and the job you have gives you an amazing schedule for travel, should you wish. How many pilots on here moved and lived in YTH for a flying job, not much better than YPL but I don’t recall anyone there talking about “how it sucks they don’t pay for my travel...

Re: One list

I’m curious about the timing of the two votes or if they are tied together. Is the Encore TA contingent on the one list passing? Or, do Encore pilots know the results of the one list vote prior to casting their vote? What are the demographics like? How many OTS at WJ, how many who feel the one list ...

Rowdy, I’m not sure if you’re serious or not but, 2019 age 62 = 37, 2020 age 62 = 29, age 65 is 15 and 17 respectively, definitely not the top 1/4 of the list. Over the next 10 years, age 62 totals approximately 503, age 65 totals approximately 461, anyone staying at Jazz will move up fairly quickly...

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?

Here's some more food for thought: SR just unionized, and is in a position to negotiate improvements in WAWCON. Jazz pilots just undermined that whole opportunity. Well, I guess it has come full circle for them hasn’t it. I’ve been doing this since the very early 90s and one thing we can agree on i...

As for the poster who left or is leaving after a short stay at Jazz, who could blame you. Would it have been better if you had received the offer at Sunwing before you came to Jazz, sure but that wasn’t the case. I have long advocated for pilots to not accept the job, I also think if more pilots com...
