RV10 Builders YYC
Morning Builders,
Just tooling up for a RV 10 build in YYC, if anyone in the community is building one or has extra RV tools laying around let me know please. I'll buy you a coffee once the restrictions are lifted and pick your brain about your progress so far.
Cheers

Re: 737 to 787 Upgrade Times
At the moment the current time to an 87 FO was 10+ years. That number is considerably higher when you add the 600 pilots lower on seniority and the 500 Encore pilots who would also bid it. The 67’s will most likely be gone within the next few years and the additional 87’s flow will most likely stay ...

Re: OTS WesJet Mainline FO
Flow is based on seniority on the list(s) regardless of position. The transfer agreement (one list) is still up in the air.
Re: Reserve
If you change seat, equipment, or base you are ‘subject’ to reserve. Meaning when a reserve system is running depending on your seniority on the list you may have to hold either a mixed block or full block of reserve. A mixed block entails scheduled pairings and blocks of reserve. The full block wil...

Re: New WestJet FO
I'll try to answer as a line pilot, Dave P would be the best source. New Hires base: YYZ given seniority and current YYZ based pilots trying to bid west Starting Pay: 2019 First Year FO $60.97 guaranteed 77.5 block hours per month Seniority: WestJet/Swoop are common employer, you would be BOTL. Enco...

Re: They were going to lock everyone out and shut the doors?
Swoop is clearly meant to reduce the CASM of an airline in order to get first mover status in the ULCC space in Canada. It is an attack against other investor groups looking to gain a foothold in that space. It will do this without sacrificing the branding of WJ, which as anyone with a brain can se...

common employer has not been filed for very specific reasons at this time. The resources provided to them by ALPA and guidance they have received to this point had been unmatched by our executives.
They are not playing catch up like some.

Re: Direct to mainline WestJet
To be competitive for one of the few direct entry positions to WestJet I would suggest you get yourself on something above 12 500. I was in the same spot before getting on years ago and was given some sound advice by a credible source who frequents this site often. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying ...

Re: Scimitar winglets..?
Initially I believe that was the intent. However with the cost of a barrel of oil being so low, the fuel savings gained does not now out weight the cost to install.

Re: YHM Runway Selection
We try to use all information available when making that decision: wind, temp, runway length/surface condition, direction of flight, and notams. We come up with a plan then verify our performance and limitations meet that plan off any runway before departing. This includes intersection departures an...

Don't we have two internal website forums that we can discuss these topics. I guess I'd rather keep our laundry in house than air it to the public much like our recent T4-gate.
Just my opinion.

This entire thread! Are we not professionals? Instead of sitting in your seat looking at what everyone else is doing wrong, maybe just maybe why don't you sit back and think about all the things you just did wrong on the last flight(s). This thread has as much professionalism and integrity as the gu...

Re: Encore gets one list and a new pay scale.
Their is no place for entitlement in this industry! If you do not want to work at Encore or think you are too good for them then maybe you shouldn't hold out for WestJet with the hopes of being successful. Gina and the crew do a great job hiring some amazing people that I am proud to call colleagues...
