Re: Instruct at 2 flights schools?

Bede wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 1:19 pm From a CARs perspective yes. Duty times don't apply to flight instruction but that could have changed.

What you need to think about if you're an employee (as opposed to a contractor) is that you have a duty of loyalty to your employer.
Thanks for sharing, not an employee just a contractor.

Instruct at 2 flights schools?

Hello

Just wondering, can a flight instructor teach at 2 flight schools in Canada. I assume you have to follow the duty times but just wondered if other instructors have done it.

Thanks

PGI's Recommendations

Hello aviators I currently have my old paper PGIs from way back and now that I decided to renew my flight instructor rating I was told that Power Point presentations are the way to go and from the couple that I have started I like these better. My question is if I want to add some more information f...

Re: How the hell do people train in the GTA?

The GTA is tough. If you are referring to CZBA in the first example, that owner doesn't own the airport. CYSN is an option but much further unless you are in the west end. CYFD, same thing. But both are not as busy and may be easier to get bookings. Instructor availability is also tough right now i...

Re: Instructor jobs GTA

With schools like Spectrum and the Waterloo flying
Club having a 2 month waiting period to train for the instructor rating yeah good luck finding a job, I wish you the best.
I talked to the CFI at Spectrum great guy, he told me he’s training like 25 instructor candidates 😜!
All the best !

AIRAF class 4 letter of recommendation?

Hello aviators ,

Quick enquiry, which online training website gives letter of recommendations after completing the sample exams ?

I know pilottraining.ca does but I think you have to do the whole ground school?

If anyone can share their opinion it would be great !

Re: School that can expedite class 4 renewal

Hello aviators again,

I’m trying to renew my expired class 4 instructor rating (more than 2 years ) knowing I have to write the exam again.

I was told I have to start the rating from scratch doing the full 30 hours inflight and PGIs.

Is this the norm?

Thanks in advance

Does it still take 12 months to apply and get an AOC to operate sightseeing flights on a single engine these days?

MULTI IFR Instructor or FO Metro

Hello aviators
If you had to choose between employed as a full time Multi - IFR instructor or sit in the right seat as an FO on a light turbine to gain experience which would benefit more in securing a better future pilot position?

Floatplane regarded as vessel in harbour?

Hello aviators

Quick question to the floatplane experts.

Is the floatplane regarded as a boat vessel in a harbour? I’m curious as I might be landing in a harbour like Hamilton Ontario harbour to pick someone up at the boat ramp for visiting vessels.

Thanks

Re: Evertz Microsystems

Unless things have drastically changed, I can tell you it's not a desirable position. On-call 24/7 and pay so bad that the FOs were pretty much "volunteers." If the CJ4 is in NY, it's likely N reg so you would need to be FAA licensed to fly it. Appreciate the info, do you know what the salaries are?

What if you sign a training and work contract for a particular base of my choice and then after training they say sorry you have to work in this base because!

If you decide to leave do you still pay the training bond , curious

Line Indoc training

Hello aviators,

I know every operator is different but after initial ground/flight training can you do the line Indoc training at your base that you were assigned or does it all happen at main base?

Thank you
