Re: Being a Proficient Pilot
Don’t forget to read through the AIM occasionally, there is a lot of pertinent information that gets rusty over the years. I personally find reading through Section VII of the cars with a focus on 705 is helpful. Take some time once you’re comfortable with the aircraft and “meat and potatoes” manua...

Re: Should I go to Jazz?
I went to Jazz, stayed reserve for 8 months, and then could hold a block... of standups. Stay where you are, you'll keep all the doors open. Don't forget to take your A's. Don't forget Flair/Lynx/Transat and Porter, those would also be good options compared to Jazz. That’s worse than a kick in the ...

Re: Yr 1 FO $130k
Boys and gals get ready. Good things are coming. In a recent board meeting it was unanimously decided that the management understands how pathetic the WAWCON are at AC and are willing to take it to the next level. They want AC to be competitive and want to invest in the pilots. Expect $130k year 1 ...

Re: Ten year deal
No one ever said that you shouldn't make similar improvements from top to bottom. No one, not one person. Somebody had to take the bull by the horns and cudo's to the WJ pilots for taking it as far as they did. We ALL want AC to make significant gains,

Re: Ten year deal
I'm on board, I have already depleted my savings since starting here so if I have to wait another year on flat pay for negotiations to start I will need to look for another better paying job. You knew what flat pay was before you joined AC. From management's perspective, why would they even conside...

Re: Negotiations
That's a pretty standard procedure when leaving on good terms, at any company. If someone was fired, they'd be gone yesterday, with no e-mails.

Re: Negotiations
Maybe AC or Chorus had him removed? Jazz hasn’t exactly been delivering the goods for the CPA lately with the pilot shortages going on at Jazz. There are only so many tools in the toolbox. Prospective pilots are looking for compensation, lifestyle, job security, and career progression. How many of ...

I was thinking late 50's, early 60's. But anyways, I'm sure we'll find out the reason soon enough.

Sadly, if they do offer Porter Rates + $1.00, they'll have no shortage of applicants.kiaszceski wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 4:14 pmLol they'll do everything they can to not pay the pilots. Unbelievable.

Re: CBC - A shortage of pilots is making travel chaos in Canada even worse
So are any of you going to contact CBC or the journalist to relay all these points? Or just keep bitching about it on Avcanada? I do believe that Capt Tim Perry, ALPA Canada President was interviewed by CTV about this. There's a screen shot, on the Alpa Canada Instagram page, with Tim talking to a r...

Re: Airline Upgrades
Just to clarify, he was told “throughout” training that he can still change his mind and take a FO spot. He didn’t. Ended up not passing the PIC assessment and that was the end of his employment at Jazz. I don’t believe he was offered an FO spot again “after” that failure. Does the PIC assessment h...
